Minister of Gender and Child Affairs Ayanna Webster Roy is pleased with Government's progress as it relates to gender equality.

She brought greetings at the Office of The Prime Minister's International Women's Day Breakfast meeting on Friday morning.

00:06She brought greetings at the Office of the Prime Minister's International Women's Day breakfast meeting this morning.
00:13I'm proud to be part of a cabinet and a team that has placed at the forefront of our national development of women and
00:20the needs, desires and inspiration of the women of Trinidad and Tobago.
00:24And I'm particularly proud to have alongside us in the cabinet
00:30men who have been part of the journey, part of the process of
00:35ensuring our women and girls in Trinidad and Tobago have the opportunity to thrive.
00:40Webster-Roy heralded one key initiative of her ministry, the Survivors Retransformation Program.
00:48Those persons who would have been affected by gender-based violence would be able to access
00:53funding either through a grant scholarship or
00:57funding to be able to promote a business opportunity up to the tune of $10,000.
01:02For those NGOs working alongside us in the fight to end gender-based violence in Trinidad and Tobago,
01:09there's the opportunity to receive grant funding up to
01:13$50,000 and all we ask is for you to work with a minimum of 10 survivors.
