Will teenager Andrew Rambaran make the T&T final 11 for Wednesday's Regional Four-Day opener against CCC?

Whatever the case, the left-handed batsman is delighted to be a part of the squad after putting in a lot of work to get there.

TV6 met up with Rambaran during a training session at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, which is the venue for the match.
Transcript
00:00He's the new kid on the block who's made the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force squad for
00:05the Regional 4-D Tournament opener against CCC.
00:08He's none other than 19-year-old Andrew Rambaran, who's looking forward to the day-night affair
00:12starting Wednesday at the Brian Lahr Cricket Academy.
00:15I think it's a great feeling being selected on the Red Force team.
00:18I think they worked hard for the selection, had good scores even for the North-South and
00:22for last year's club season.
00:24So I think it's a good feeling being selected, also one of the young players on the side,
00:27so it's a great feeling.
00:29In order to reap the rewards, a lot of effort and life is required.
00:32Rambaran is no exception, which means he also had to make sacrifices in order to get to
00:37where he is today.
00:39I think I've been putting in a lot of work.
00:41At this level, I think it's more about mental strength than anything.
00:43So I've been doing a lot of mental work instead of skills work, because I know I have the
00:47skill set to be at this level.
00:49So I think just mental strength itself.
00:52I've been working on a lot of different shots, different stuff, patience and stuff like that
00:56for this tournament.
00:57So I think it's been pretty good.
00:59Playing at the regional level is nothing new to Rambaran, who represents Vishnu Boys Hindu
01:03College in schools cricket.
01:05Last year, Rambaran played for the West Indies Academy in four regional Super 50 matches.
01:10Playing at the Super 50 level for the first time, it was a great feeling.
01:14I learnt a lot from a bunch of the other young fellas.
01:18I think it's all about the learning experience and I'm very grateful for the opportunity
01:22with the Academy to play Super 50.
01:24The upper sixth student plays for Mary Boys in the TTCB competition and is therefore familiar
01:29with the players in the domestic circuit.
01:31He has therefore been able to fit in properly with the rest of the Red Force members.
01:35Well, I've been around the Red Force set-up for a while, so it's been pretty easy to gel
01:38with the guys.
01:41Coaching-wise, I think it was pretty good having Coach Riyadh as one of the coaches
01:45for the U17 Chandar team.
01:47So I think it was pretty easy to gel with the guys.
01:49I knew a lot of the guys from before.
01:51So I think this is going to be a good experience coming into this four-day.
01:55And what are Rambaran's goals for the new four-day season should he make the final 11?
01:59Yes, I think I want to score a few hundred, just be consistent, just keep my standards
02:05at a high level and just have good performances all round for the season.
02:09While he is seen as a batsman, Rambaran can also rotate his arm a bit and is ready to
02:14do so if required.
