00:00Preparations are in progress for the new regional Super 50 season which takes
00:04place in Trinidad from October 29th. The venues for the matches are the
00:08Queens Park Oval, Brian Law Cricket Academy and UE Spec. Also involved in
00:13the training sessions is pacer Anderson Phillip who's hoping to wear the maroon
00:17colours once again. Definitely the preparation has been there. I look forward to
00:23this tournament you know I've been omitted from the team last year and the
00:29ODI, Western East ODI team as well so you know I look forward to this
00:34tournament you know have a few good performances and the cementers selection
00:39on the ODI spot. Phillip was in England recently playing red ball cricket with
00:44Lancashire. For him it was quite enjoyable plus game time was important
00:48to help him with his preparations moving forward. I definitely I enjoyed that
00:52that experience you know even if you look back most of our legends
00:58played cricket in England and they were dominating at that time so it's my first
01:04time playing in England I was there in 2020 with the test team during Covid
01:09series as a replacement so I enjoyed that time there and actually playing and
01:15having a good few performances. TNT are the defending champions having won it
01:20last year in Trinidad. Phillip says playing at home is a big plus.
01:25Definitely it is advantage you know we at home we have support from home as
01:30well so it should be a good one for us the last time tournament was here as
01:34well we did well I had a good good few performances as well so you know I hope
01:39that I can even replay that or even have a better one. Other teams in the
01:44regional Super 50 are Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Wynwoods, Leewoods, CCC and
01:50West Indies Academy. So which sides must TNT be wary of in the tournament? I think
01:56all the region have good team but it's cricket at the end of the day who plays
02:01the best cricket will definitely be the winner then. Okay even though the team is
02:05yet to be selected should you make the final cut what goals have you set
02:09yourself going into the tournament? It's just basically enjoy my cricket and play
02:15the cricket as best as I can and have a good few performances. From 25 list day
02:19matches Philip has taken 35 wickets which includes four scabs playing in
02:25West Indies colours. Vinod Nawani, TV6 Sport.
