West Indies off-spinner Karishma Ramharack says despite the loss there are some positives the team can take going ahead.
Transcript
00:00It was a bittersweet moment for off-spinner Karishma Ramharak who took a career-best 4 for 33 in the second ODI against Bangladesh.
00:07However, it was in vain as the ladies in maroon lost the match. So the question is, are the Windies under pressure going into the series decider?
00:15I don't think there's any pressure. I just think again we need to, you know, sit down and think about the way we go about our batting.
00:22You know, apply ourselves and come out and execute.
00:25I guess we didn't, you know, apply ourselves in the middle. I think we lost wickets in clusters and that really came under pressure.
00:30The series is now 1-1 following the sixth-run defeat. Despite the situation, Ramharak says there are some positives to take forward.
00:38You know, we had some bowling targets as a bowling group and we were able to hit those targets on the head earlier.
00:44I think also, you know, Divya Mini and obviously Aaliyah Cherry batted as well. Those are good things, good signs for us as a batting group.
00:54But again, of course, you know, we're just going to revise these things and come back, bat the next game.
01:00The 30-year-old is fully aware the West Indies have their work cut out for them as they have to go into qualifiers with a hope of playing in the ODI World Cup in India this year.
01:10On another note, Ramharak is honoured to be the first Citizen Sportswoman for 2024.
01:15First of all, it was a shock to me. You know, I knew how hard the other girls, especially Barissa, Anissa, I guess Stacey, whoever else played before me, you know, they were always nominated and never won.
01:27I feel really honoured to, you know, win the title. I guess I had a really good year last year and this year it fits, so I'm thankful for that.
01:34Ramharak now has 27 wickets from 31 ODIs and her economy rate is 4.48 runs and over.
