A Claxton Bay couple is expected to be charged on Monday with the attempted murder of a one-year-old child.

Last week, a team of officers led by ACP Wayne Mystar, acting on information, went to a house in Claxton Bay.

On arrival, they observed the baby on a bed with signs of physically abuse.

The baby was removed from the home and taken to hospital while police detained three relatives.

The baby who was in a critical condition, is now in a stable condition and on Monday, ACP Mystar said multiple charges will be laid against two people, with the third person still under investigation.
