00:19TV6 News was told that an argument between Ghani Jr. and a woman began around 8.30 a.m.
00:25when he accused her of infidelity, which escalated into a physical struggle.
00:31Police reports suggest Ghani Jr., in possession of one of his licensed firearms,
00:37fired several shots at the woman, who in turn reached for a second licensed firearm belonging to the victim
00:43and returned several shots hitting him about the body.
00:47He died at the scene.
00:49Investigators recovered 10 spent shells and two pistols licensed and belonging to Ghani Jr. at the home.
00:58Investigators say the woman contacted police following the shooting
01:02and has been assisting with their investigations since.
01:06The victim is a father of two young children who were at home at the time of the incident,
01:11but police say they were in another room when he was killed.
01:15At the home on Wednesday, a close relative of the woman said Ghani Jr. was often aggressive
01:21and felt certain the woman acted in self-defense given their history.
01:26Meanwhile, speaking to reporters at the handing over ceremony of six new fire tenders
01:32to six different fire stations held at the Pinal Fire Station this afternoon,
01:37Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander said domestic murders are both unfortunate and sometimes avoidable.
01:44It's important to have that, to hold that family unit close.
01:48It's important to see about your children, talk to your husband, your wife, you know, have that conversation.
01:56It doesn't have to reach to this, you know. It never does.
01:59He also responded to the fact that a licensed firearm was used in the fatal shooting.

02:10that they must understand the responsibility it holds.
