A Claxton Bay couple became the country's latest murder victims after they were shot and killed at their home last night while their infant was spared.

00:0046-year-old Bastow Lallon and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Whitney Narine, didn't stand a
00:06chance when a gunman stormed their home on Teak Avenue, McAlee, Claxton Bay last night
00:11and shot them in cold blood.
00:13Investigators said they responded to a call of two people being shot around 9pm at this
00:17wooden house where the couple resided.
00:19An informant told police that he heard someone shout out, followed by loud explosions and
00:25Narine later ran into the bedroom and was also shot and killed by the gunman.
00:29The informant also told police that the couple's 7-month-old son was left unharmed and they
00:34took the child and ran out of the house.
00:37The couple's uncle said he had only moments before left the house to go to work.
00:59Investigators said Lallon was a scrap iron worker while his girlfriend, Narine, worked
01:21as a labourer at the San Fernando City Corporation.
01:24Police say they are yet to ascertain a motive for the killing.
