00:00I've been here since 2009. I have a registered business. I am not no illegal person and to feel as if I've been treated in this kind of way is just giving victimization.
00:11Ms. Forrester told the TV6 News she did all she could do to negotiate with the school to have her son graduate with his friends,
00:20and later she was told by a teacher at the school he would not be facilitated.
00:25And she said to me, Mommy, your son will not be able to do the graduation. He cannot do the graduation. So I said, Miss, why? Mommy, I tried, but no.
00:38She said previously her family was not going to be in the country due to a family emergency, but since the family emergency was canceled,
00:46she approached the school indicating the availability of her son to physically graduate.
00:52She missed the first installment for payment, but was available to the school for the second installation of payment as other students for her son to graduate.
01:03Ms. Forrester said she was even willing to buy her son's gown and hat at her expense, but this, too, was denied by the school.
01:11I was never given a price or a chance to say, OK, Mommy, pay this or whatever. This is what he can do. I was never given that chance.
01:20TV6 News contacted officials of the Division of Education on the matter.
01:24They said they were already aware of the case involving the 12-year-old child.
01:29They stated that the school would be contacted and the matter looked into further.
01:34Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
