00:00It was a disappointing race for the big vessels. The 130 mile boat Mr. Solo 2 did not finish the
00:06race.
00:07Such was also the case with Iron Man in the 120 class. Last year as well, the Guy Costa owned
00:14boat did not finish.
00:16But no such problems in the 95 mile class with Mobile Tyrant taking top spot.
00:22Heat Wave was the winner of the 80 mile class. Taking the 70 mile was Ratchet to stop Extreme Measures
00:29winning streak.
00:30The 60 mile class belonged to Timeless which is owned by Gilson Smith.
00:35Justified won the 50 mile class while Ballistic captured the spec class title.
00:41Afterwards T&T Power Boats Association President Stefan Scott Lewis said the great race was nearly pushed back due to
00:48the weather.
00:49In my opinion this year's great race was one of the greatest great race that it ever had.
00:54I know that we had a lot of complications with the weather and we were very close to cancelling great
01:04race for the Saturday and pushing for the Sunday morning because of the yellow alerts that we had in Trinidad
01:10and Tobago.
01:11However, we worked very closely with our friends at the Met Office to get accurate readings for the weather.
01:18There were a few vessels that did not make it to Tobago but Lewis was still satisfied with the outcome.
01:25This year's great race we had planned to have 35 boats and we had 30 boats that registered and we
01:32had about 21 boats that made it into Tobago which is a huge accomplishment.
01:38All of the other boats they had complications because the water was still a bit rough.
01:44However, based on mechanical problems it prohibited them from actually reaching into Tobago.
01:51But all in all the entire event and the races especially carried out very very professionally.
02:00Time will tell what 2027 has to offer.
02:10We're now running to support the just a little bit...
02:13We're not...
