The scourge of school violence continues to trouble the nation.

On Thursday, a 16-year old student was hospitalized after being attacked near his school.

00:00 Nine teenagers were questioned by police on Thursday after 16-year-old was reportedly
00:05 beaten so badly that he had to be treated at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
00:09 The incident took place at about 12.30pm on Thursday in the vicinity of St. Anthony's
00:14 College.
00:15 The teenager was reportedly confronted by a group of about 10 boys who hit him repeatedly
00:20 during the ordeal, resulting in a broken nose, bruised ribs and bruises to his face, chest
00:26 and back.
00:28 The incident, TV6 was told, was even captured on CCTV cameras.
00:32 The teenager was taken to hospital and the police were notified.
00:36 A team of officers from the Four Roads Police Station responded and questioned nine individuals.
00:42 The 16-year-old was discharged from hospital today and made an official report to the police
00:47 this afternoon.
00:48 TV6 News was told that the family of the injured 16-year-old will be seeking legal advice.
