00:00I feel so privileged, I feel honored and coming from government schools it just
00:09shows that we are capable of producing all wrong students also. So it is indeed
00:15a wonderful achievement. We spoke with the principal of the Signal Hill
00:19Secondary School, Ariana Darborough Ford, on Friday as the school celebrated its
00:2448th anniversary. Acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin graduated from
00:30the class of 1988 and according to Mrs. Darborough Ford his rise to the top came
00:36as no surprise. In the 80s we were able to produce several national icons such
00:44as Dwight York so it comes as no surprise that we have yet another icon
00:49from the class of 88 and by large from the 80s and we continue to produce
00:56excellence and all of these achievements really serve as motivation for our
01:02current student body. Mrs. Darborough Ford said students everywhere must be
01:07motivated to achieve as the motto readiness is the key adorns the walls of
01:13the institution. She told TV6 News greatness in any child has no
01:19boundaries on the walls or in the hallways of any educational environment.
01:24I want to say that a star can shine anywhere once you are motivated and
01:31inspired to achieve once you are able to utilize the resources that is within
01:37your reach and within the environment of that school you are capable as
01:42evidenced of achieving any kind of success that you desire.
