00:04encompasses a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs
00:09of our primary schools here in Tobago.
00:12From pre-testing and post-testing phases
00:16to tailored literacy interventions,
00:20teacher development workshops, parental programs,
00:24teacher training, and community-based outreach initiatives.
00:29This is designed to leave no stone unturned
00:33in our quest for educational excellence.
00:37The director of the Arrow Foundation
00:39was on hand to speak about the program.
00:42Arrow is an audiovisual, multisensory-based program
00:46developed by Dr. Colin Lane in the United Kingdom.
00:50It focuses on learning through self-voice techniques,
00:54covering reading, spelling, dictation, speech,
00:57and learning exercises.
00:59This social intervention program,
01:01in collaboration with the division, with both divisions,
01:07will provide two pilot schools with computers,
01:13five years of software,
01:16ongoing interventions by extension
01:18for all the children in those schools,
01:20international certification for all the teachers
01:23who are being trained,
01:25ongoing support by qualified Arrow tutors,
01:29trauma workshops, development workshops for parents
01:32and for teachers.

01:38Alyssa King, spoke about the effectiveness of the program.
01:42The Arrow program has allowed students
01:44to learn and improve their reading, spelling, speech,
01:48just to name a few,
01:50in a fun and innovative way.
01:53With the use of self-voice,
01:55the students are focused, intrigued, and motivated to learn.
