00:00So we are donating funds to your school and some of $5,000. We held several
00:08events during the year, one of which was the Nirvana event, which is a fundraising
00:13activity, and from that we are doing several donations to different
00:18organizations and individuals, and Happy Haven School is one of the recipients.
00:24The Blossom Can Foundation was established with the aim of improving
00:31the lives of residents of the villages of Black Rock, Wynn, Spring Garden, Darrell
00:36Spring, and surrounding areas. Understanding that these areas require a
00:41high level of support due to current economic challenges, the foundation
00:46provides much-needed assistance to residents in the form of food
00:50distribution, funding for academic pursuits, youth development support, and
00:55bereavement assistance. We are also launching a very creative initiative
01:01where, you know, it's about inclusion, social cohesion, and integration of our
01:07students that are passing out from the school. So we will be adopting a student
01:13or two, and that adopting of the student would expose them to the world of work,
01:19life skills, and, you know, also allowing them a very small stipend so that they
01:25can also be reintegrated into the society. Minority councillor Petel
01:32Daniel Benoit also spoke during the simple ceremony. We are really pleased
01:37from the Office of the Minority Leader to be here this morning. Last year we
01:42came and we celebrated, and one of the things that the principal pointed out is
01:46that a lot of organizations and individuals come to the school only to
01:51celebrate the special days, and we went back, put our heads together, and thought
01:56about what we could do to contribute throughout the year, and this was one of
02:00the initiatives that we came up with, and we are happy to see that this year it is
02:05materialized. It has materialized.
02:16Merry Christmas from the bottom of our hearts.
