00:00 Hello there, good morning. Welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. We've got some
00:04 dense fog patches around this morning, could lead to some tricky travelling conditions.
00:09 Looking at the bigger picture, we've got an area of low pressure slowly starting to move
00:12 in from the Atlantic this morning. It's going to spread its way north and eastwards giving
00:17 some wet weather. But then as we move through the week, a battleground starts to develop.
00:22 High pressure developing over Scandinavia will help keep weather fronts out in the Atlantic,
00:27 meaning plenty of dry weather. The winds coming in from the south will lift temperatures,
00:32 but perhaps towards the weekend, well, low pressure systems may start to return from
00:37 the southwest, introducing some rain. At the same time, we might see easterly winds developing
00:42 and temperatures start to drop a little bit. So, some uncertainty towards the end of the
00:46 week. Cold start this morning, fog patches slowly lifting, plenty of sunshine across
00:51 parts of Scotland, Northern England, Eastern and South East England for the day ahead,
00:56 though the sunshine turning hazy. This band of rain slowly pushes in from the southwest,
01:01 giving outbreaks of rain to the West Country, into Wales and Northern Ireland. Some of this
01:05 rain could be heavy at times and quite blustery, particularly around the coasts. But the winds
01:10 coming in from a southerly direction, lifting temperatures up to around 12 Celsius this
01:15 afternoon. Single figures across Scotland, but plenty of sunshine here to compensate,
01:20 except the Northern Isles where a weather front will continue to give some outbreaks
01:24 of rain here through the day. Into the evening time, the weather front continues to push
01:28 its way northwards and eastwards, though starts to fragment, becomes lighter and patchier
01:33 in nature, though overnight it stalls across eastern parts of England and Scotland, giving
01:38 further outbreaks of rain here. Further west, some clear spells developing, but blustery
01:43 showers across Northern Ireland, perhaps moving into parts of Wales and the southwest by the
01:48 end of the night. And temperatures overall, with more cloud around, brisk winds around
01:52 the coasts, it will keep temperatures up around four or five Celsius. So frost free for many
01:58 to start Tuesday morning. A grey damp start across these eastern areas, but this weather
02:03 front slowly fizzles away. It brightens up here. Plenty of sunny spells by late morning.
02:08 In the west, showery outbreaks of rain push their way eastwards, but again also break
02:13 up by the afternoon. Sunny spells and showers for many, though plenty of dry weather and
02:18 temperatures again 12 or 13 in the south, 7 to 10 Celsius in the north. So summarising
02:25 the week ahead, a fairly unsettled start, outbreaks of rain pushing north and eastwards,
02:30 then it tends to settle down. Most places dry, some sunny spells, temperatures locally
02:36 above average where we see that sunshine by the end of the week, possibly turning a little
02:40 colder as those easterly winds develop and perhaps some rain starting to move in once
02:46 more too. If you'd like more information on the weather where you are for the week ahead
