00:00Hello, very good day to you. Some of us will see a bit of sunshine as we go through this
00:05afternoon, particularly towards the east.
00:06Further west, a different cloudier, wetter story. If we look at the earlier satellite imagery, we can see a big
00:13swathe of cloud out to the west of us, out in the Atlantic.
00:16Here there is a frontal system that is heading our way and it's going to bring some heavy persistent rain
00:21as we go through later Tuesday overnight into Wednesday.
00:24But I also want to draw your attention to this secluded front and it's this that's brought a fair amount
00:29of cloud for many northern and western parts so far today and it's also bringing some outbreaks of rain.
00:35Now, these are going to continue as we go through the afternoon.
00:38So across as much as Scotland, parts of northern England, down the western side of England and Wales, also some
00:42parts of Northern Ireland, there will be some outbreaks of rain.
00:45Further east, it's looking drier, not totally drier, a few showers towards parts of Kent, maybe coastal parts of East
00:50Anglia.
00:51But there's also a greater chance of seeing that sunshine that I mentioned here as well.
00:56With that then, the sunshine, temperatures a little bit above average.
00:59We're looking at highs around 13, 14 Celsius, so down a couple of degrees compared to yesterday.
01:04But further north and west, with the cloud, the rain and wind strengthening as well, temperatures are going to be
01:10a few degrees down on this and feeling it as well.
01:14Later on then, that other weather system that I mentioned at the start, that pushes its way in initially across
01:18Northern Ireland.
01:19So some persistent, at times, heavy rain.
01:21And then through this evening and overnight, it's turning increasingly wet across much of Scotland, across northern Western England and
01:27much of Wales, clinging on to some drier weather for longest across parts of eastern England.
01:32But even here, the cloud, the rain will sweep through as we go overnight and through the early hours of
01:37Wednesday morning.
01:38Behind it, we do have clearer skies, yes, and so you may expect temperatures to drop, especially because there is
01:44colder air coming through.
01:46But there will be strong winds around, so blustery, strong winds, particularly towards the northwest.
01:52But generally, it's going to be a bit blustery for many of us.
01:55And as a result, temperatures won't drop as low as you might otherwise expect with that colder air and those
02:01clear skies.
02:02Plenty of showers as well, particularly across Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland.
02:05Some of these could be a bit wintry, so a little bit of sleet and snow mixed in with them.
02:09But they're going to be a fair bit heavy at times, and all the while, they are going to be
02:14blustery, those strong winds that I mentioned.
02:17So a bit of a wet start across some southeastern parts tomorrow morning and very showery across the northwest of
02:23the UK.
02:23Otherwise, it is looking a bit brighter, perhaps a bit drier for many of us compared to the start of
02:29the week.
02:29So many of us should see some decent sunshine at times through the day.
02:33Just always need to watch out for those showers, which will be piling their way through, particularly across Scotland and
02:37Northern Ireland.
02:38But a few showers dotted around elsewhere as well.
02:41But like I said, we have that colder air coming through.
02:43And so even though there is more sunshine on offer through tomorrow compared to Tuesday,
02:48it's not going to feel much warmer because temperatures will be that little bit lower.
02:53And we have those strong winds, and those strong winds will make it feel a little bit chillier than these
02:58temperatures may suggest.
03:00Let's look at those winds, though, because they really are going to be strengthening as we go through Tuesday night
03:04and into Wednesday.
03:06So the strongest winds will be across northern and western parts of Scotland.
03:09We do have a warning out because we're likely to see some impacts, particularly as we go through the morning
03:13rush hour,
03:14and then the strongest winds clear away as we go through the afternoon.
03:17However, there is more unsettled weather waiting to come in as we go through towards the end of the week.
03:23So through Thursday through Friday, we are going to see some further heavy rain and some strong winds,
03:28so staying pretty unsettled.
03:30Even colder air coming in as well, and so that brings a reasonably high chance of seeing something wintry.
03:36So some more sleet and snow, mainly over higher ground in the north, but perhaps not only confined to the
03:42higher ground.
03:43I'm sure Aidan will be talking more about that in the deep dive, which will be available on our YouTube
03:48channel later on today.
03:50Worth a watch as it is his birthday.
03:52I'll see you again soon. Bye-bye.
