A few years ago, former members of William Branham's cult of personality informed us that Voice of God Recordings, Branham cult headquarters, had staff members that were doing some "creative writing" to produce stories for their publications about cult members in other countries. While we can neither confirm nor deny that this is the case, we can say that it is very suspect.

Take the "Wild Cow Stare" story, for example:

William Branham had several misogynistic sermons and doctrines comparing women to the animal kingdom. Branham taught that the female human was the lowest life form on earth, lower in status than a dog or a hog. In one particular sermon, he said that women should be inspected like cattle and that if they had a "wild look in their eyes" they could not be Christian. In 2012, VOGR published an article claiming that a cow in Mexico ate the transcript for the sermon and turned from a wild, untamed beast into a loving mother cow. In most circles of life, the book-eating-cow would be the strange part of this story. In the Branham cult world, however, the humble Mexican farm girl's perfect English is the strange part of this story! The farm girl used American phrases such as "in spite of" and "I just cannot comprehend," while the rest of her statement used simplistic and grammatically incorrect phrases.

While this doctrine about examining women like cattle to determine whether or not they can be Christian is anti-biblical, it is also untrue. Other former members have also informed us that feral cattle have the wild look in their eyes Branham described, and they make some of the best mother cows and produce very well.
