00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland James weather update for Friday.
00:04We do have a little bit of wet weather out there today, mainly over these northern parts
00:08in through here, all dry across the southeast. There's a cold outbreak in the southeast
00:12of the country and we're going to feel just the very tip of that as it comes through. No
00:15wet weather with that one. But the system that is building over in the west, we will
00:19see that in the western parts of Queensland as we go into next week and it could deliver
00:24some nice falls. Not for the coast, it'll be an inland system.
00:27So let's go look day by day. Here we have Friday. You can see it down the bottom there. There's that
00:31next weather system developing. But anything in through here, it is very light and patchy
00:35rain as it comes through. Okay, so there's Friday. Let's watch this march
00:39across. Saturday, start to see a bit of a tropical moisture feed coming through.
00:43This is coming in. As we go into Sunday, you can see it is in those western
00:47parts in through there. Just some very light coastal activity coming through.
00:51Into Monday, we've got that feed of moisture, that cloud band over the
00:55southwestern parts there. Into Tuesday, the next burst comes in so that gets even bigger
01:00as it moves through. Into Wednesday, you'll notice all of this is a western system, not
01:05a northern system, a western and southern. And then it stops at the ranges here before
01:10flowing over onto the coast there. So by Thursday, it's just left in through here and cleared
01:15out by Friday as the next high pressure system comes in. This is going to deliver some big
01:19falls. For the southwestern corner here, that's the area that is getting the rain. Across the
01:25south and it tapers out as it moves through. Our coastal activity isn't very much as it
01:29comes through, but all across these southern states, it is a big widespread soaking rain
01:34system. Let's see what that means for Brisbane, remembering we're on the coast. The other
01:38side of the range is not seeing that rain during the week. We will be feeling the cooler air
01:42as it comes through from the cold outbreak that affected the southeast of the country at the
01:45later part of the week. So 22 and then 22 across the weekend, there might be a very light
01:50shower that comes through. It won't add up to much. That all clears out. Ready for next
01:54week. The activity is over in the west. Temperatures rise once again and then lower as a little
01:59bit of cloud comes in. But we're not really seeing that wet weather east of the ranges.
