00:03Hello, it is Sunday the 6th of September, and this is South Australia and Victoria's
00:07weather update for the week ahead. There's not a bunch of active weather coming this week,
00:12it's relatively stationary and stable, with a front moving through late Tuesday, early Wednesday,
00:17but there's not a lot of oomph behind it, so it's bringing some slightly chillier weather,
00:21but not a lot of rain. So let's have a look at this. So this is our rain accumulation,
00:25as you can see for most of the two states. We've got sort of 1 to 5 mils, with this
00:31sort of
00:31Gippsland region potentially reaching 15 to 25. This little system, this cutoff low, mainly stays
00:38confined to WA, but you might find that some of the western regions of South Australia receive it,
00:43also with a chance of thunder and lightning. Let's move into the weather warnings now. We can see
00:48that in the north of Victoria, we still have moderate and minor flood risks in the north
00:52and the sort of alpine regions, which might stay for the first few days of the week. But as we
00:57move
00:58out, we get drier weather and some warmer, sunny days. We're hoping that those flood risk warnings
01:03reduce. Let's have a look at this rain day by day. We're starting here on Sunday. This is the cutoff
01:08low active system here, and you'll see it sort of come in and out of the western part of South
01:12Australia.
01:13Okay, this is our Monday. Potential showers here in Victoria, concentrated in eastern,
01:20sort of coastal parts of the state. Same here for this cutoff low, western parts of South Australia.
01:25Tuesday dries out for most of Victoria. This cutoff low approaches a little bit further inland for
01:31South Australia. Similar action for Wednesday, but we get more showers now in Victoria. Thursday,
01:38we are starting to be under the influence of this high pressure system over both states,
01:42so we're starting to really dry out here on Thursday and as well here on Friday.
01:45All right, Saturday, you can see this line here is sort of the next frontal system moving through,
01:51but it's sitting quite far south, so it doesn't appear to be influencing much of those two states.
01:55And the same here for Sunday as well. Okay, let's have a brief look at temperature. So as that front
02:03moves through sort of late Tuesday, early Wednesday, we're seeing a cooling off of temperature there.
02:08So this is our Wednesday morning, large patches of zero to five degrees, and much of Victoria and
02:14sort of the populated regions of South Australia, five to ten degrees there. So we're definitely
02:18seeing some chance of early morning fog across multiple days of next week. Let's have a look now
02:24at Barnsdale in the Gippsland region in Victoria, sort of for our weather forecast. We've got Monday,
02:301.2 mils. Tuesday, pretty much nothing, maybe a light shower or two. Wednesday, 1.4. Remembering that this
02:36is the day that the front moves through, you can see that the wind gusts aren't particularly strong,
02:40so it's not a very powerful front. And we're talking anywhere between 0.2 and 2 mils. So
02:44again, not a lot of moisture behind that as well. Dries out Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
02:48and then Sunday, there's another potential shower moving through as that next front rolls in.
02:53All right, that is it for South Australia and Victoria, a relatively stable week with showers on
02:59and off. What I didn't point out, which might give you a bit of a smile, is that there's some
03:04warmer weather in the low 20s on the way at the end of the week and into the weekend. A
03:09nice sunny
03:09weekend potentially on the way, so there you go. Okay, do stay safe, have a great week, and we'll see
03:14you next time.
