00:03Hello, it is Sunday, the 27th of September, and this is your forecast for South Australia,
00:07Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales for this week.
00:09We have a low pressure system moving to the south bus this week with a trough line coming
00:15out of it that will deliver some longer soaking rain toward the middle of this week across
00:19a lot of the southeast here.
00:22Totals could be 25 to 50 mils across the ranges.
00:25Let's move into the day by day forecast, shall we?
00:27So Monday, we can still see that it's fairly clear across South Australia, Victoria and
00:31Tasmania, with some onshore rainfall in northern New South Wales seeing 15 to 25 mils up there.
00:37It clears out for most of these states, but you can start to see this trough line approaching
00:41for it to arrive in South Australia on Wednesday, with a potential 10 to 15, more likely between
00:472 and 10 mils across the southern and western parts of South Australia, as well as in northwest
00:52Tasmania.
00:53By Thursday, it's when we'll see a lot of the rainfall in Victoria and the populated areas
00:57of South Australia and in northern Tasmania.
01:00We're looking at between sort of 10 to 25 mils here on Thursday.
01:04Friday, it intensifies for eastern Victoria and New South Wales, while it's relatively
01:09dry off in South Australia.
01:11We can start to see this high pressure system moving in, which might mean that the chilly
01:15mornings might arrive there.
01:17And because of the moisture in the soil, there might be some fog on the way.
01:19As for Saturday, Victoria and Tasmania have dried out.
01:23South Australia has another rain system establishing in the west, and there is coastal rainfall
01:28across New South Wales.
01:30We're looking here between sort of 2 and 10 mils.
01:33And then for Sunday, it's dry across most of the east coast, maybe some showers along the
01:38north and central west of New South Wales, and a light shower possible in South Australia.
01:43If we have a look at the wind fields, this is just looking at Monday, we've got some gusty
01:47winds coming through South Australia here, seeing inland maybe 30 to 40 kilometre hour
01:52gusts.
01:52But for the most part, it's not a very windy week, as the trough that's moving through
01:57isn't quite as strong of a pressure gradient as if we would see if there was a front.
02:01So definitely some winds on the way, but nothing too major that I'm seeing in a lot
02:04of the forecasts.
02:05As for temperature, we have this warm air incursion coming down through the tropics into
02:10the subtropics, delivering some quite warm temperatures in the middle of the week.
02:14Here, we are looking at Thursday.
02:16Now, Thursday, you'll remember, there's quite a bit of rain in Victoria and Tasmania, but
02:20you can see an incursion of 30 to 35 degrees throughout central New South Wales here.
02:25And if we go in western Sydney, 30 to 35 degrees as well.
02:28But we see this signature for a few days beforehand.
02:30Now, the rain that's on the way as well with this warmth could result in some thunder and
02:35lightning storms, but they're not super strong in terms of their size or magnitude.
02:40that I've seen so far in the forecasts.

02:45As we can see, totals between sort of 10 and 25 mils is possible for a lot of these coastal
02:50areas, whereas inland areas likely lighter showers between 1 and 10 mils is on the way.
