00:00Hello and welcome to this Chains Weather Update.
00:02This is for New South Wales and it is updated on Wednesday.
00:06Let's have a look today.
00:07We've got a big cloud band that's coming in from the northwest.
00:10That brings in moisture from the Indian Ocean.
00:13Wherever that runs into low pressure, there will be some significant rain.
00:16That is likely to be in Queensland and northern New South Wales, as well as the coast as well.
00:21A cold front is moving across the southeast.
00:23High pressure in behind that, moving there for the weekend as the next cold front comes
00:27into the southwest.
00:28So zooming in to New South Wales today, we're starting to see some of that cloud coming
00:33in from the northwest.
00:34That will sicken as the days go on.
00:36But otherwise, today is all about the sunshine.
00:38It's a nice break.
00:39I had last weekend that finally cleared.
00:42Let's have a look day by day.
00:43So here I have Thursday.
00:45So here are the rain totals.
00:46We're starting to see high pressure move into the southeast.
00:49So that brings onshore winds.
00:50So we end up with some wet weather along the coastline there.
00:53Meanwhile, the rain is brewing over the interior.
00:56Let's watch that move in.
00:58As we go into Friday here, it's over Queensland.
01:01It's over northern parts of New South Wales, not hitting the south there.
01:05We've still got our onshore flow.
01:07So we've got our showers along that coastal fringe.
01:09So that's what we're looking at for Friday.
01:11Let's have a look into Saturday.
01:13Potential for big falls, but they are north of the border there.
01:16This is a north of Brisbane thing.
01:18Still, we're going to see lots of wet weather along the coast there.
01:21We've got that onshore flow.
01:22And we've got a little bit of that coming down into the western parts of the state.
01:26But that shouldn't be heavy falls.
01:28Heading into Sunday, that system moves on.
01:31We still have onshore airflow.
01:32So yes, we've still got showers coming into the coast as the high pressure is sitting down
01:36in through here.
01:37And just a little bit of that one left over.
01:39Moving into Monday next week.
01:41Still onshore flow.
01:42So we still have that wet weather.
01:44The next one is starting to come in from the west.
01:47That one is going to be a southern New South Wales thing rather than northern thing.
01:51But still, it doesn't have a lot of moisture with it or instability.
01:54So watch that as it comes through.
01:55There's Tuesday.
01:56Now we have Wednesday.
01:58So I'm going to see it in through here and then heading out on Thursday.
02:01Meanwhile, the east took a break for a day or two in there.
02:04All right, let's unpack that in terms of totals.
02:07Here it is, Queensland, that are seeing the most significant part.
02:10But along the coastline here, we could have 100 to 150.
02:14Now, most of that is just offshore.
02:16But still, this is around the 25 to 50 mark as this comes through.
02:21So anywhere from the south coast northwards are seeing the heavier falls.
02:24As it moves across the inland to the northern parts, 5 to 10, 10 to 15 millimetres.
02:29And then that system next week, really, it's just 1 to 5 millimetres in the south as it
02:33moves through, even less as you head into the Riverina.
02:36That's our totals for the next week.
02:37Let's unpack that for Sydney.
02:39So here's the sunshine.
02:41Enjoy it while we have it after what happened last weekend.
02:43And what is coming?
02:44We have another wet weekend ahead.
02:47Temperatures cool down.
02:48Sixteens pretty much across through there right into next week.
02:52And having a look at this.
02:52So possible showers increasing to rain at times.
02:56So rain at times being fairly steady wet weather as it comes through, whereas possible showers
03:01very hit and miss.
03:02Rain at times as we go through Saturday.
03:04That indicates a wet day, 21 millimetres is the average across all of the guidance.
03:09Sunday, showers likely.
03:10So lots of them.
03:11Then possible showers.
03:12So that's an easing trend as the day goes on.
03:16But then there's more to come in as we move to Monday as well.
03:19All right.
03:19Let's unpack as we go into Friday.
03:21So here we have dry at first.
03:23Possible showers early.
03:25Most of that wet weather is on Friday night.
03:27Welcome to the weekend.
03:29As we head into Saturday, there's our rain at times.
03:32So we're looking at wet weather pretty much every single hour as it comes through.
03:35Showers tending to steady rain.
03:38Showers likely than possible showers as we move through Sunday.
03:40So lots of it here in the morning and then less as we move into the afternoon.
03:45That's the latest from me here.
03:46As always, head to Farm Online Weather to get your update.
