00:00Two weekend stabbings on the south side. One happened outside Capo's on Friday night.

00:12Emma Mannix told KDKA-TV she had moved to the south side in August and has concerns about the bar.
00:17The last two nights it's been the most hectic I've seen it in the last couple weeks I've lived here
00:22and it was like packed.
00:25The incident was followed by a second stabbing on Saturday night about one block away.
00:29The victim was stabbed in the neck, also in critical condition.
00:33A coalition of south side residents, business groups and elected officials are responding to the Friday stabbing by calling for
00:39Capo's to be closed.
00:41With details of an open letter to the DA's office, here's News Radio KDKA's Tamira Rush in the newsroom.
00:47Paul, the letter calls on the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office to return to court and seek a court-ordered
00:52closure of Capo's.
00:53The group argued the bar has violated at least three provisions of a consent agreement that allowed it to remain
00:59open under specific safety conditions.
01:02They say continued violence associated with the business is discouraging people from visiting the south side, costing neighboring businesses, customers
01:11and damaging the district's future.
01:13The letter acknowledges closing a business has consequences for owners and employees, but argues the safety and livelihoods of the
01:20entire community must also be considered.
01:23The coalition is asking the district attorney to publicly identify the next enforcement steps.

01:50-turn lanes instead of one.
01:52A busy and sometimes dangerous intersection in Monroeville is being redesigned thanks to a grant from the state.

02:13It carries almost 16,000 vehicles per day.
02:16It's near Gateway High School and AHN Forbes Regional Hospital.
02:19The hospital has led the way in wanting to redesign the intersection.
02:22Now, the $3.34 million grant will create a new main entrance to the hospital complex, among other changes.
02:29The redesign project should get underway within the next two years.
