00:07Police say a man was killed along the Homewood-East Hills border last night. He had been walking near Bennett
00:12and Oakwood around 1130 when an SUV hit him.
00:15As the driver checked on him, a Prius came by and hit the pedestrian a second time.
00:19The SUV driver stayed on the scene. The Prius driver did not. Police are now looking for that driver.
00:24Also, police say a man said he fired shots after he'd been jumped by two men in Garfield around 9
00:29last night.
00:30Then in Bloomfield, a man was found with a gunshot wound to his arm and torso a short time later.
00:35That shooting victim in critical condition, the man who was jumped instable.
00:38Community members gathered Thursday night for a public meeting to address safety concerns in East Liberty.
00:43Several instances with groups of teens involved in alleged assaults, including outside and near the Whole Foods on Penn Avenue
00:49discussed.
00:49It also comes after police say several teens chased a woman into the new Sephora store, beat her, and caused
00:55thousands of dollars in property damage.
00:57Leaders say it all comes down to community.

01:18In a lot of ways, it hurts to be able to say this, but they're running on their own.

01:40David, the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office says 34-year-old Ashley Apperson of Leachburg is facing charges after she
01:46allegedly stole nearly $300,000 from her employer.
01:50Officials say Apperson did accounting work at Ventec Refrigeration and issued close to 90 non-payroll checks to herself and
01:58also used her company credit card for personal expenses.
02:01Prosecutors say the money was used for her mortgage, credit card payments, gambling sites, and more.

02:48The proposal would impose a one-time 5% tax on people whose net worth exceeds a billion dollars
02:55and who were living in California as of January 1st, 2026.
02:59The revenue would mainly fund the state's Medicaid system after federal cuts.
03:04The proposal is backed by the service employees' International Union Healthcare Workers West.
03:09Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom opposes the measure.
03:12He and many traditional allies of the union say it's a temporary fix and would drive the ultra-wealthy out
