00:00I think Jonathan Taylor would be a dream for John Harbaugh and I think that as great as Camp
00:08Scadaboo played last week against Houston, does Harbaugh really love him or trust him?
00:15Can you imagine the Giants with Jonathan Taylor, Malik Neighbors, a quarterback who completes the
00:21forward pass, toughness of a John Harbaugh team, not only meaningful games in December and down
00:27the stretch, but a home playoff game? It would be amazing.
00:42Ah yes, trade season in the NFL officially upon us. A couple of all pros from the Indianapolis
00:49Colts traded yesterday to powerhouse teams in the National Football League and if you
00:56are a fan of the NFL, a fan of the 49ers, a fan of the Seattle Seahawks, you gotta love
01:03sports. How about the Forrest Buckner? You can go home again. I mean, this is a terrific
01:10deal for the San Francisco 49ers. Remember, the Forrest Buckner, who's 32 years old, last
01:17year of his contract, Colts obviously breaking it down to build it back up. They fired the
01:22GM. They're in rebuilding mode. The San Francisco 49ers had the Forrest Buckner, drafted him. He
01:28was a star for them. And then out of nowhere, John Lynch, their general manager, called it
01:33one of the toughest moves he's ever made. 2020 shipped him to the Indianapolis Colts for
01:37a first round pick. The Forrest Buckner's 32 years old, but he is still playing like an
01:42absolute superstar and an absolute stud. And you look at it, four sacks already this year. He
01:50is terrorizing the opposition. The defensive line for the San Francisco 49ers is just besieged
01:57by injuries. Nick Bosa should be coming back off the bye week. Now you have the Forrest Buckner.
02:02Everyone loves playing for the Niners. So Buckner, gonna be thrilled to go home again, just like
02:08Debo Samuel is thrilled to go home, just like Trey Greenlaw was thrilled to go home. And
02:13this is a great example of the Niners and a phenomenal brass with John Lynch, with Kyle
02:18Shanahan. See a problem, fix a problem. All these injuries on the defensive line, bam,
02:23we're going for it. 6-0 start, lose a game for the first time all year, 6-1. People like
02:28me, not gonna downgrade them. But they're going for the Super Bowl. Like, making the playoffs,
02:34winning a division. That's not the expectation anymore in San Francisco. It's how do we find
02:41a way to go out and win a championship? And I just love this. And the Niners, it's been kind
02:47of miraculous what they've been able to do. Just amazing. When you take a look at San Francisco
02:53and this incredible start and the way Purdy's playing, considering everybody's hurt. It's like
02:59QF REM. I mean, it's kind of crazy. Every single wide receiver was injured this past week. So this
03:06is the right move at the right time. And I think San Francisco, as we speak, is the best team
03:13in the
03:13NFC. I know what the Vikings record says. We talked about them. And I think Minnesota is legit. I don't
03:19think they're frauds. But I think Chicago's actually the better team in that division. And I think San
03:24San Francisco is the team to beat. If we were doing a Shine Time Power Rankings, San Francisco's
03:30number one right now in the NFC. And I think number two is Seattle. And the way the Seahawks
03:39attacked the trade deadline yesterday, two weeks before the deadline, they are coming off of the most
03:47incredible possible win. The way that they look like Super Bowl champs, resembled the team that we saw
03:52last year for the first time all year, where they beat the hell out of the Kansas City Chiefs.
03:57And they go out and take advantage of the Colts fire sale. And they make a trade for Quentin Nelson.
04:03Quentin Nelson is one of the two best guards in the NFL. Every single year since he came out of
04:08Notre Dame 2018 draft, I've been saying Quentin Nelson or voting for Quentin Nelson, first team,
04:14second team, all pro. Now you're going to have Quentin Nelson and Gray Zabel, who I voted for
04:18offensive rookie of the year last year. He's been fantastic. They are going to be the greatest guard
04:23combo in the entire league. The Seahawks don't rest when you take a look at their ability to see a
04:31problem and fix a problem. And, you know, last week was great. Prior weeks, they were having trouble
04:37running the ball. Sam Darnold was getting knocked on his derriere a little bit too much. So they beef up
04:41the offensive line. And this is John Schneider. This is who he is. This is what he does. The great
04:46general manager for the Seahawks. Where last year, they had the need for speed. They traded for
04:50Rashid Shahid. And that helped them win a Super Bowl. Then the year before, it was Ernest Jones. The
04:54year before that, it was Leonard Williams. These are guys who are instrumental in winning a Super Bowl.
04:59So this is terrific, terrific stuff. And that's what I think helped the San Francisco 49ers in terms of
05:07making sure that they took advantage of the Colts fire sale and they got the Forrest Buckner. So I
05:14thought that was an unbelievable day yesterday for Buzz, for an arms race in the NFC, arms race in the
05:21NFC
05:21West, because these teams are gearing up. Seattle for back-to-back. San Francisco, they've been the best team
05:27in the league, in my opinion, in the NFC, not the undefeated Vikings, all season long. When you look
05:32at the Niners, they see one loss. They go out. They get the perfect guy. Knows the coaching staff. Knows
05:38the structure. Knows all the veterans. Been there before. This will be a seamless transition. What an
05:44unbelievable trade for the San Francisco 49ers, especially on the heels of what Seattle did.
05:50This is a championship caliber move by San Francisco. So the Indianapolis Colts are breaking it down and
05:58they have to because, you know, the team's a mess and they fired their general manager. Should have
06:03been fired years ago. And the big winner in addition to Seattle and in addition to San Francisco,
06:10the Jets. How about the day the Jets had yesterday? Are you kidding me? If the season ended today
06:18and it doesn't, look at where the Jets would be picking in the upcoming draft. And here's the beauty
06:28of this, right? And obviously, there's going to be a lot of movement. The Colts are only going to get
06:33worse.
06:34So the fact that the Jets have the Colts pick, this is unbelievable. And that Sauce Gardner deal,
06:43and when the Indianapolis Colts made it 365 days ago, eight and one team, you know, they were thinking
06:49they were going to ultimately get home field, win the AFC, and they didn't even make the playoffs
06:55after Daniel Jones got hurt. And again, Chris Ballard, their general manager, now former general
06:58manager, he didn't have a legit backup quarterback. So that's what you get. Jets are going to take advantage
07:03of this. I mean, if you're a Jets fan, you just lost to Miami, you know what you could do?
07:09You could
07:09stare at that board all day in terms of ultimately looking at the draft picks and the draft capital
07:17that's going to be available. You know, that was a deal when Muji made it where you said, okay,
07:23I get it. And I think Dallas won the Quinn Williams deal. I'm a big Quinn Williams fan,
07:28but Quinn Williams didn't want to be there. So you get an extra draft pick. So the fact that you
07:34can
07:34have, okay, and I do think Dallas is going to go on a winning streak. We've talked about that.
07:38So I think the Dallas pick is actually going to be lower. I think the Colts pick is going to
07:43be
07:43higher. And I think because, you know, the Jets and Aaron Glenn have no idea what they're doing,
07:48the Jets pick could be higher. This gives the Jets flexibility. They need domination on defense.
07:54You know, obviously they need a young quarterback, gives them some options in terms of trading up,
08:00trading back, trading for a veteran at a specific position. I think this is awesome. The Colts
08:08selling makes the New York Jets a huge winner. And listen, after losing to the Miami Dolphins,
08:15who didn't have a lead all season long before coming to the Meadowlands and, you know, Aaron Glenn,
08:19what a pathetic gutless disgrace of a gutless puke performance that was, the Jets fans have
08:26something to smile about. All year long, you're rooting for the Cowboys to lose and the Colts to
08:31lose. The Colts selling? That is Christmas before Halloween if you're a fan of the Jets. Is Jonathan
08:40Taylor going to get traded? That is one of the NFL's burning questions.
08:50JT, I saw your wife shared a video on Instagram or Twitter about you and your future. How do you
08:56feel about that being out there? And do you have any type of response to that?
08:59You know, I think it's been out there already. So I think her adding to me doesn't really change
09:04anything. You know, everybody's on TikTok these days. So, you know, you just have to come into
09:09work and stay focused. Welcome to the NFL in 2026. You're not just following breaking news alerts from
09:18noted insiders. You're following the social media habits from players and their wives. Burning
09:25questions. Start with this. Is Jonathan Taylor going to get traded? Should the Colts trade him?
09:31And who should be interested in Jonathan Taylor? Look, I think for the Colts, this is a fascinating
09:37one because Carly Ursa Gordon, the owner for the Indianapolis Colts, loves Jonathan Taylor. Just
09:45gave Jonathan Taylor an extension. Jonathan Taylor checks every single box as a superstar for the
09:52Indianapolis Colts. He's the guy who is on the marquee. He's on the season ticket email. He is a
09:59future Hall of Famer who's played unbelievable this season. Phenomenal last year. Great in the community.
10:05He is everything you want in a face of a franchise. It's also a franchise that doesn't have a first
10:13round
10:13pick next year and has an interim GM and doesn't have a quarterback. And this whole team is a mess.
10:20So first of all, let's start there. It's not a no brainer that they trade them in the owner's eyes.
10:25If I'm running the Indianapolis Colts, I would absolutely shop till I drop here on Jonathan Taylor
10:31and create a market. I think right now, today, you get a second round pick in compensation for
10:38Jonathan Taylor. If the Minnesota Vikings win against Detroit, and I think that they will,
10:45I could make the case they should give up a first round pick. I think Minnesota is the absolute
10:50perfect fit number one team for Jonathan Taylor. It would be incredible because their defense is
10:57unbelievable. I don't know how great with Kyler Murray that passing attack is going to be. But with
11:02Jonathan Taylor, they can get the one seed. They can hold off Chicago in the division with Flores'
11:07defense with Justin Jefferson, Jonathan Taylor. You can live with Kyler at quarterback. I think this would
11:14be a move that would be amazing for the Vikings this year, next year, into the future, and beyond.
11:22And I think Minnesota should be at the top of the list of teams that would make a trade for
11:27Jonathan Taylor. Number two on the list, the New York football giants. He's from New Jersey. I think
11:36Jonathan Taylor would be a dream for John Harbaugh. And I think that as great as Cam Scadaboo played last
11:46week against Houston, does Harbaugh really love him or trust him? You take a look at the depth charts
11:53at running back and, you know, Tyron Tracy on the injured reserve that cut Najee Harris. Devin Singletary had
12:01an amazing run, which was incredible to win in overtime. I don't necessarily think the brass
12:07loves him. Obviously, I love J.J. McCarthy. We'll get to him in a little bit. But I think Jonathan
12:14Taylor can instantly, with Malik Nabors, provide this unbelievable punch of pop and sizzle and domination
12:24and a couple of special players that will keep defensive coordinators up at night. And I think
12:30it would help the New York football giants ultimately hold off the Dallas Cowboys. It would be a business
12:37decision for ownership because you're going to have a home playoff game. What a concept. You would have
12:42a couple of offensive players who'd be must-see TV. Also, what a concept. The Giants have been so bad
12:49for a
12:50decade and, frankly so, unappealing to the eye. Can you imagine the Giants with Jonathan Taylor,
12:58Malik Nabors, a quarterback who completes the forward pass, toughness of a John Harbaugh team,
13:03not only meaningful games in December and down the stretch, but a home playoff game? It would be
13:10amazing. And what have we said about the Harbaugh Giants consistently? It's all about 2027. This year has
13:16been fun, exciting. Giants are back. But this is the kind of move that would put the 2027 Giants in
13:25position
13:26to be great. So, I don't think the Giants, because they're not going to stack up enough wins, I don't
13:32think
13:32they would offer a first round pick, a two and change, a two plus. I would absolutely do that for
13:42Jonathan Taylor. Special player, special person. He would be fantastic. Look, you could argue the
13:48Broncos, the Packers. I know Seattle and Indianapolis just got together in the Quentin Nelson deal.
13:54Seattle can make some sense. Other teams as well. But I think the Minnesota Vikings and the New York
13:59football Giants should be all over the Indianapolis Colts for Jonathan Taylor. Even if he's not available
14:06now, make him available. I think that he would be a rock star in New York with Big Blue. Question
14:14two,
14:15would Marcus Freeman want the Jets job? Right now, no. I think it's impossible to argue that the Jets job
14:23is better than the Notre Dame job. Marcus Freeman has one of the great football jobs on the planet,
14:29coaching the Notre Dame. He turned down the Giants, and that's more a fact than it is opinion. I do
14:37think Marcus Freeman at some point is going to be an NFL coach and a fabulous NFL coach. I think
14:43there's
14:43a real shot, especially if and when they beat Miami, and I predict that that's going to happen. Listen,
14:50I think he can win a championship this year. I think Marcus Freeman can be in the Final Four,
14:55playing the championship game. And if he gets to a certain level, then maybe he'd be more inclined to
15:03ultimately leave the Fighting Irish. But would it be for the Jets? Look, the draft picks available in
15:11the first round, that's obviously a big deal. Because Marcus Freeman, if he likes the quarterback
15:16class, could basically pick someone he wants. And we're talking about, you know, having three top
15:23picks. We're talking about taking a couple of them, trading up, packaging them, and getting
15:27a quarterback that he loves on the collegiate level. The problem, of course, is Woody Johnson.
15:33So can we get, if you're Marcus Freeman, insurances that Woody will lock himself in the closet. You know,
15:40that's make sure he's hands off. You know, does he like Muji as a general manager? He should.
15:46I think he would be, you know, a check in the box of pros and cons. That would be a
15:51positive here
15:52for Marcus Freeman. But he turned down the Giants last year. Would he take the Jets this time around?
16:01I think it'd be a coup for the Jets. I'm skeptical that Marcus Freeman would see this as an upgrade
16:07for his career. Topic three, can J.J. McCarthy be the Giants' long-term quarterback?
16:12The short answer is yes. And this is, in all due respect, to Jackson Dart. And I'm a big
16:19Jackson Dart fan. I thought the Giants cleaned up in the draft a couple of years ago when they
16:24got Carter and Dart. And I thought Jackson Dart, I liked him in the draft process more than most.
16:29I thought the Saints should have taken him in the top ten. And I think Jackson Dart's going to be,
16:34in theory, if he's healthy, an amazing quarterback. But Jackson Dart, two years in the league,
16:40has been injured. And he just ripped up his knee. And now here's J.J. McCarthy. And J.J. McCarthy
16:46was a
16:47better prospect coming out of Michigan than Dart was coming out of Ole Miss. So you see what J.J.
16:54McCarthy did against the Houston Texans. And honestly, I love this. And I love his talent and
17:02his ability. And just how sensational he is. And, you know, the way that Harbaugh ultimately,
17:08at the end of the day, Harbaugh fills him with confidence. And he needed a change of scenery.
17:14And I think this is why he gave up the fifth-round pick. We were riding ahead of the curve
17:18on all of this.
17:19This is also not a fluke. If you're in the change of scenery camp here with J.J. McCarthy,
17:27you have to, at the end of the day, believe that he can be as good or better than Jackson
17:32Dart.
17:33So, worst case scenario, his insurance, if in fact, Dart, who's a great athlete,
17:39comes back and he's not ready to run around after knee surgery. But of course,
17:45and I don't want to hear that this is just one game and one quarter against New Orleans.
17:51This is why the Giants made the deal. So this is a real topic. So the answer is, can he?
17:58Yes,
17:59of course he can. And I think the Giants are going to be open-minded about this.
18:04I would also love to know, deep down with the Giants' brass, current brass, Harbaugh when he was in
18:11Baltimore. And again, his brother won a championship with J.J. McCarthy. What did they think of J.J.
18:16McCarthy as a prospect coming out of Michigan? This is not in any way, shape, or form trying
18:23to throw shade at Jackson Dart. Because I certainly not only took the cheese on Dart,
18:28I'm a huge fan of Jackson Dart. Jackson Dart is a hypothetical because of his health.
18:35Now, maybe McCarthy's a hypothetical because of other things as well. But the short answer,
18:41and I like the way we phrase this, can McCarthy become the Giants' long-term quarterback? Yes,
18:47of course he can. Topic four, what's up with Lamar Jackson? So we're now at this weird stage again,
18:55with Lamar and his health and ambiguity and reports and shooting down reports. And,
19:02you know, did he ultimately get hurts again in practice? And, you know, can he play 100 percent?
19:10Should he play when he's not 100 percent? Is he 100 percent? You know, last week I told you all
19:16week
19:16here on Shine Time that I was skeptical that Lamar Jackson was actually going to play.
19:21I was skeptical because it just didn't feel and sound. And I'm pretty good at interpreting Lamar
19:26and the Ravens. And, you know, the Baltimore PR staff is fantastic. And I'm listening to the coach
19:32speak on it. Something's off. Something's been off with Lamar with injuries when Harbaugh was the
19:40coach. Something's just not right. In theory, you want to say, yeah, of course he'll play. It's
19:46the Ravens off a loss and Baltimore and Lamar taking on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
19:52That's a marquee matchup. That's a heavyweight showdown. Something's not right. Ravens, by the
19:59way, have the best plus minus in the NFL in the first half of games. The worst in the second
20:03half
20:04of games. I'm not going to declare anything on Lamar until I see him on the field. All I know
20:10is they
20:10are going to finish in last place in that division. If they don't get Jackson back, get Jackson back in
20:15action. And if they lose, even if Lamar plays, if they lose against the Buffalo Bills, I don't know
20:22how they make the playoffs. Seriously. Question five. Are the Kansas City Chiefs in trouble? The answer is
20:28yes. They are in trouble. And I know what the record says. And I understand it. And I get it.
20:34And
20:34how about Andy Reid signing Justin Tucker today, the practice squad. See how that pans out. Listen,
20:43I think Kansas City got punched in the face against the Seattle Seahawks. And I think that when you look
20:51at it, I think that that was an example of what's going to happen to Kansas City when they go
20:57up
20:57against better teams. Because if Kenneth Walker is not able to run the ball, this team just isn't very
21:03good. They don't have the requisite wide receivers. The defense is not special. Special teams. Harrison
21:09Bucker kicking the ball has been awful this year. And if Denver is healthy, we don't know if Denver
21:16is healthy quite yet. We don't know if Denver is healthy. If Denver is healthy, that's a problem.
21:23That's going to be, no, let's see if Jalen Waddell is healthy. Let's see if Patrick Sertan is healthy.
21:29So I'm not ready to pick the winner of this game yet. But do I think the Chiefs are going
21:37to make some
21:37kind of run to the Super Bowl? No. And you know that I was ranking teams like Buffalo and Jacksonville
21:45in the AFC ahead of Kansas City, even when the Chiefs were undefeated. So this is not hyperbole.
21:51This is not exaggeration. I genuinely think that Kansas City is in trouble. Question six. Are the Rams back?
22:02This is loaded. The answer is yes. Sort of. Let's go back to the start of the show. The Seahawks,
22:12at the end of the day, make an unbelievable trade. The Niners, at the end of the day, make an
22:18unbelievable
22:18trade. And the Rams are looking up at those teams because of all those grotesque, awful losses earlier
22:25in the season. Rams had a great win against the Raiders. The schedule is ridiculously favorable.
22:34I think Sean McVay is going to be feisty and fired up. And it's going to be amazing here when
22:40you take a look
22:40at ultimately what I think the Rams can do moving it forward here for Los Angeles in the second half
22:48of the season. Talent is there. Miles Garrett is coming back. I firmly believe in the Los Angeles Rams.
22:56Having said all that, I think that they have a road to climb because I don't see Seattle dipping.
23:05I don't see a team like the 49ers dipping. I think the Rams, at the end of the day, ultimately,
23:13when it's all said and done, will be back. Will make the playoffs. I love the head coach. I love
23:20the quarterback. They've got a boatload of injuries. I don't think there's any question about that.
23:26But I think the Rams are back with that win. They need to get your shorts on straight kind of
23:32game,
23:33right? Just get back to basics and focus and good football, good vibes. And I think the Rams,
23:40I still believe this, even if they finish third in the division, will make the playoffs in 2026.
23:47Topic 7. Are the Bills still my pick to win the Super Bowl? The answer is yes.
23:51And originally, if you remember, it was Bills-Rams. I would alter it now to Bills-Niners.
24:00I'm not ready to write off the Rams, as we said. How about Josh Allen? This cat's unbelievable. This
24:05guy is going to win the MVP. I think if you look at it, Bills are the first team to
24:09rank first in
24:10offensive points per drive, 32nd in defensive points per drive, best and the worst both sides of the ball,
24:17this late in the season since the 2016 Atlanta Falcons. And that tells me this offense,
24:25and DJ Moore is coming back. Josh Allen, James Cook and company, they're unbelievable. Absolutely
24:33sensational. I still believe they have talent on defense, a great coaching with Jim Leonard.
24:38I also think historically, Brandon Bean always is active and tries to add talent at the trade deadline.
24:46I still think it's Josh Allen's time to shine. I haven't seen a team that I'm convinced that would
24:54beat Buffalo this postseason. There are other really good teams. And again, I give you those
24:58defensive stats. I don't want to sit here and say, well, the Buffalo Bills, they're a lock,
25:04they're a shoe and they don't have any flaws. No, their defense has been bad to start the season.
25:09I still think they have the coaching. I still think they have the talent. I just need the defense
25:14to be good. Like from week eight on, can they be defense 16 instead of 32, an average run-of
25:24-the-mill
25:25defense? If they're average on defense, they're going to win the Super Bowl. And that was what I
25:29believed before the season. They could be defense 10 through 16 in the NFL because Josh Allen is the
25:34single best player in the NFL. He's a certified freak seven days a week, especially on Sundays.
25:41I'm obsessed with him. I can't get enough. And the way they've dealt with injuries, the way the
25:47offense has dealt with the issues in terms of how bad the defense has been, really amazing, really
25:52inspiring, great stuff here from Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills. They remain my pick to win the Super Bowl.
26:01You, Northern Virginia kid, going to William & Mary. I mean, to have a moment like this,
26:07obviously, you know, in the moments after, it's hard to probably encapsulate. But just how surreal
26:11is it on your end to have this kind of a big moment in the World Series?
26:14Yeah, I mean, it's what you dream of growing up. You know, you play wiffle ball in the backyard with
26:18your friends and you're dreaming of hitting a walk-off in the World Series. And I mean, to fight like
26:24the
26:24way the team fought tonight to get me into that situation and to get runners on and just to have
26:30that moment for me was was huge for them. Listen, that's why you love sports. Ben Williamson,
26:37not a household name steps up and has a chopper in the bottom of the 12th to save the season
26:43and a walk-off for the Tampa race. First of all, that game last night was a banger. That was
26:50one of the
26:50best postseason games that we've seen. It was just incredible. Everything hanging in the balance, Milwaukee,
26:57opportunity to win a championship for the first time in franchise history. It felt like a Milwaukee home
27:04game and then it looked like it was over, right? I mean, Cooper Pratt hits the homer and honestly,
27:11I thought for sure and I was on the teeter-totter. I'm always honest with you.
27:15I almost went to bed. I would have missed Tampa winning because you have seen Milwaukee just come back
27:24in all these games, find ways to win. Brewers are inevitable. Absolutely sensational. So Cooper Pratt hits
27:33the homer. It's over. I think they got a little weird in the bottom of that inning. Third baseman
27:41makes a bad throw. First baseman had a chance to scoop it. Bowers couldn't do it. Kamonero just
27:47busted his ass down first base. He got hurt. It was not 100%. And then on a single, he busts
27:55it to third.
27:56They have to pinch run with said Mullins for him because he can't even walk, let alone run. But he
28:02made
28:02sure he got the first. He made sure he got the third. DeLuca comes through. They tie the game.
28:07Bases are loaded. Williamson with the chopper. Just incredible. And this is literally and figuratively
28:14a ray of hope. And the whole game was intense. I mean, every single pitch mattered. Simpson on the
28:21bases. Simpson with base hits galore. Simpson in the outfield. I mean, Chandler Simpson is just an
28:27incredible, incredible ball player to watch. So much fun. Everything right with baseball.
28:32I thought Pat Murphy screwed up royally last night. I don't get to say this often. And Pat Murphy's
28:38unbelievable. I thought he completely fouled up McGill. Two outs in the eighth. That was insane to me that
28:46he didn't go more than just five pitches. First of all, the situation didn't even call for McGill.
28:52Let's be crystal clear about that. All right. You're going to do it. He's trying to win the World Series.
28:56He's got to go longer. I mean, this is your closer. It's the best closer available in the playoffs.
29:02Second best closer in the National League. I mean, what are we doing here? It's like,
29:06Mason Miller and McGill, let's go. And the fact that he only had Ashby for seven outs should have
29:12extended him. He managed that game like he was going to bring Mizorowski out. And by the way,
29:17I would have never in a million years pitched Miz last night because you're up three nothing in the
29:22World Series. Mizorowski starts game five tonight. So I would have never done it. But he managed like
29:28he was going to do it. So because he wasted McGill and got Ashby out early too, they're pitching guys
29:34who
29:34are not part of the unbelievable majestic all-time playoff regular season bullpen core that has
29:41taken you as far as being nine innings away from winning a World Series. So I don't know what the
29:46hell Murph was doing. Listen, they say momentum in baseball as your next day starting pitcher.
29:52Mizorowski in the bump tonight is huge. But I felt like last night was just
30:00a wild turn of events that gave the Rays some life. And you know, that whole stadium is a dump.
30:05Obviously, fans don't want to go there who are Rays fans. They'd rather be home.
30:09Brewers fans anticipating a championship. They're watching it in in Tampa in Florida because they
30:15want to see their team win. I think Milwaukee needs to treat tonight like a must win. You know,
30:20I'm not getting crazy here in any way, shape or form. It's only the fifth time out of 26 times
30:25that we have seen a team down 0-3 win a game in the World Series. The previous four all
30:31lost. But
30:32that tells you something about the heart, the soul, the manager with Kevin Cash. Look,
30:38the Brewers are better. Brewers are going to win the World Series. But I was so impressed with what
30:43Tampa did, how Tampa did it. And Pat Murphy opened that door a little bit. That was a bad job
30:50by the
30:50Brewers last night. Great job by the Rays. Man, this World Series. I don't want to hear about
30:56market size or payrolls. Game one was sensational. Game two was sensational. Game four extra innings.
31:03I'm exhausted today. That was an all-time classic. That was incredible. So I can't stress enough how
31:10great this World Series has been. I hope it goes back to Milwaukee. Selfishly, I want more baseball.
31:15I don't think the Rays have been bad enough. They're not as good as the Brewers. Brewers have
31:20better bats. Brewers are the better team. Brewers are the better regular season team,
31:24better postseason team. I would be upset if I was a Rays fan if we didn't get it to at
31:29least a game
31:29six. Could have won game one. Could have won game two. I can't wait to see the drama unfold tonight.
31:35Let's shine on hoops now. My Knicks finally got a dub.
31:40Get win one in their championship defense season.
31:45I think most importantly, we got to remember that, you know,
31:49more was the building of the day. This is a new year, new team.
31:54Adversity started early, so we just got to fight back.
31:57So when you watch the Knicks last night, and it's their first victory since Knicks in five,
32:04and they won a championship, you just have to exhale. And frankly, the way this game started
32:11last night, I was getting a little nervous. 37-13, third quarter against Detroit, solid team,
32:18well-coached team. I mean, that was exactly what the doctor ordered. I thought Brunson was terrific.
32:24I thought, hey, Mikkel Bridges, who couldn't have ordered Phil out of a boat the first three games
32:28of the season. I thought he was awesome, especially from three. And Cat was the best player on the floor.
32:3527 points, 20 rebounds. Absolutely incredible stuff. Loved every single second of what we were
32:41able to see from these guys. Needed win. You could take a breath. You could exhale.
32:45That was absolutely, positively incredible. Needed. Meanwhile, the internet Celtics game was
32:52nearly indescribable. But, you know, that's what they pay me for. Watch this.
32:57... to inbound. He missed an open Ellis. He finds Brown, who goes up and missed the shot again.
33:04Time is winding down. Right here. There it is. Opportunity.
33:08Inbounds are to him. Jason Tatum for the win. Yes, sir!
33:16Nets, bro. Fold the franchise. I mean, let's be honest. By the way, this whole thing was crazy.
33:24I mean, insane. How about the fact that our old friend Mitchell Robinson missed a couple of free
33:31throws in the waiting moments of regulation? Of course he did. Love, Mitch. Thank you for the
33:37championship. But paying him that contract in Boston for the Celtics never made any sense.
33:42Good for Mitch. Got his bag. Look at this. I mean, every Knicks fan in America is saying,
33:47yep. Seen that before. And then you see Brown. What can Brown do for you at the buzzer? Bang!
33:55That was incredible. And I'm getting all these tweets from all these, you know, Nets fans. Oh,
34:01Sean, you said for the franchise. Well, how about that? I mean, missed layups, missed bunnies,
34:08all sorts of issues. You know, just a terrible job when you take a look at what transpired in
34:14in overtime. He had no sense and feel of the clock and nothing in terms of what ultimately was going
34:20to
34:20transpire. And it was a complete and utter mess when you looked at Brown down the stretch of this game.
34:27So, I was supremely disappointed in what we saw from Brown. It was zany from a Brooklyn perspective.
34:36I mean, he literally missed not one, but two layups. This one right here. Then, I mean,
34:45Sarah Kustak was brilliant on the Yes Network. I don't know why he's even taking the shot with that
34:49much time left. Because by doing that, it gives Jason Tatum and the Boston Celtics an opportunity
34:56for this. And look at how calm Tatum is. Take that, Jalen Brown. I mean, just a thing of beauty
35:03if you're a fan of the Celtics. And a nightmare for the windless, pathetic, gutterless, irrelevant,
35:12rudderless Brooklyn Nets. Look, I know the Lakers lost last night. And by the way, it was to the Blazers.
35:17Every time I see Damian Lillard do something in a Blazer uniform, it's just great for the sports soul.
35:23Like, I love it. I can't get enough. It's sensational. It's amazing. It's everything you want if you're a
35:30fan of basketball. See, and Damian Lillard do his thing. It's also another example of how and why
35:37Luka Doncic is going to win the MVP. I mean, did you see Luka last night? And I know the
35:43Lakers lost.
35:44I genuinely do not care. Luka Doncic this season is on fire. Last night in a loss. 41 points. And
35:54he was
35:55majestic. Nine assists. And this is another prime example why Luka Doncic is going to be the MVP
36:03MVP of the NBA.
36:06May I help you?
36:09Hey, stud.
36:11Vicky Malacorz, this is quite a pleasant surprise.
36:15Yeah, I just got out of jail. I heard you were playing football.
36:20As a Halloween enthusiast, that is incredible. Jared Goff is my guy just for his Halloween costume.
36:28But will he be one of my guys from week seven in the National Football League?
36:34It is the most covered award weekly in all of the National Football League.
36:38Whether or not you are one of Shine's guys for the week.
36:41Number five, Jesse Bates from the Atlanta Falcons.
36:45I am obsessed with Jesse Bates. He is an unbelievable player, an unbelievable safety.
36:49That diving interception to me was the play of the weekend in the NFL by a defensive player.
36:59Nine tackles, that interception, a forced fumble, and a monster upset special win for the Atlanta
37:06Falcons against the previously undefeated 49ers. And what you saw on the screen right there
37:11is the perfect illustration of how Jesse Bates deserves even more credit. We give it to him
37:17all the time as being a phenomenal all-around player for a sustained period of time during
37:22the course of his career. Phenomenal safety, makes plays. He was great in Cincinnati. They
37:28foolishly didn't pay him. Atlanta scooped him up. He's a team leader, one of my favorite guys.
37:33I vote him all the time for first or second team All-Pro. My guy, Jesse Bates. Number four,
37:39my guy Joe Burrow. I got to give my guy Joe Burrow all the credit in the world.
37:43And he went out in the second half and was able to kick ass and take names. When you look
37:48at what he
37:49was able to do when they were down by 13 to win by over 20 against the Baltimore Ravens on
37:55the road
37:56in the division. Look at these numbers. Nuggets of domination for Joe Burrow in the second half.
38:02This is pitching the perfect game. I mean, look at this. Perfect passer rating in the second half
38:08when he was down 13-0 heading into the locker room. 16 of 18, four touchdowns, no picks, 249 passing
38:16yards all in the second half. My guy Joe Burrow, who again, I believe is going to lead the Cincinnati
38:22Bengals to a division title in the best division in the NFL this year. Number three, my guy Malik Nabors.
38:29I think the genius of Malik Nabors is actually flying under the radar a little bit. Look at this. History.
38:39We're talking about Malik Nabors, four straight 100-yard-plus receiving games.
38:48That is number two all-time in Giants history. Also, he has a great rapport with J.J. McCarthy.
38:58When you start talking about best receivers in the NFL this year, and I say this as someone who votes
39:04for first-team All-Pro, second-team All-Pro, Malik Nabors has been, this season, a top five wide receiver
39:12in the National Football League. Right now, he is on track to getting one of the votes for a first
39:18or
39:18second team. We're talking about three receivers on the first team, three on the second team.
39:22He has been that dominant, that special. Look, all the conversation has been about Harbaugh.
39:28All the conversation has been about how the Giants have won games. Malik Nabors is an absolute stud.
39:36All right. My guy, Malik Nabors. Number two. He makes the list. My guy, Jared Goff. Not just for the
39:42Halloween costume, but Jared Goff has thrust himself into the MVP discussion. And look at this. Most
39:51passing touchdowns without an interception, first six games of a season. And I think that, and I'm part
39:58of this because I destroyed Dan Campbell and that kind of, and officiating was terrible. So that kind of
40:03took away from what Goff did and his genius at the quarterback position. Listen, right now,
40:10he is absolutely top five on my list for league MVP. I'd probably have him third or fourth. You know,
40:17I'm not putting him ahead right now of Josh Allen or Brock Purdy, but Jared Goff has been sensational.
40:23He deserves a lot of credit. He also flies under the radar. My guy, the great Jared Goff and my
40:29guy from
40:30this past week in the NFL, my guy Jackson Smith and Jigba. And let me tell you something about
40:35Jackson Smith and Jigba. And here's how we need to describe it, right? He is the best
40:43offensive player in the NFL non quarterback. I mean, he did it again. Look at the numbers. Look at what
40:52he's on pace for. Remember the fact that he was the offensive player of the year last year. You know,
40:59we can't sit here and talk about B. John Robinson or Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase or Christian
41:06McCaffrey or Kenneth Walker, the third. Jackson Smith and Jigba is the single most dominant,
41:15physical, sure handed, slippery, most unbelievable offensive weapon in the sports. I mean, look at
41:24these routes. He's covered on most of these plays. And this is a great illustration of just how
41:31versatile he is. You can line him up on the inside, on the outside. He's ridiculously tough. I mean,
41:37look at the precision on how he runs the routes. He's tough minded going over the middle. He's able to
41:43escape from potential tacklers. He is just incredible to watch. You could put him on
41:48anywhere all over the field, set him in motion. His football acumen, his football IQ, his toughness.
41:55The best player on the best team in the NFL last year. They won a Super Bowl. And what JSN
42:01is doing
42:02this year, next level. Nobody should be surprised. If anything, I think Jackson Smith and Jigba is somehow
42:10underrated. My guy, JSN. But wait, there's more.
42:19Do you have a message for them about how to get on board for a game six, a possible
42:24championship game on the road at 930 in the morning? Yeah, calling sick. Yeah, I recommend it.
42:30Yeah, right. Like, y'all know how to fake a cough, and then we all do that.
42:35Calling sick. But we got the best fans in the league, so I'm sure they'll be supporting us
42:39whatever time. I am so sick for the incredible players for Golden State and Atlanta for a game
42:48six in the WNBA at 1230 Eastern time on Thursday afternoon. Golden State fans in the Bay Area,
42:59have to wake up and skip work. Kids have to skip school for a 930 game with the potential of
43:09seeing a championship. By the way, it's not a game seven, so you might skip school. Your team loses,
43:15and you skip school for no reason. Let me tell you something. Kathy Engelbert, who we have attacked,
43:21rightly so, on numerous occasions on Shine Time. We had that great interview with Nancy Lieberman,
43:26and she was outstanding in understanding exactly why this league is a complete and utter absurd mess.
43:33Kathy's the worst, and you know, she's retiring after this season. She was pushed the hell out
43:38because she has no idea what she's doing. I feel so terrible for the players on the Atlanta Dream.
43:45I feel so terrible for the players on Golden State. I feel terrible for the coaches. I feel terrible for
43:51the fans. And the WNBA is its own worst enemy when it comes to garbage and nonsense. And the play
43:58on the court all year has been remarkable. The postseason has been remarkable. Here's Golden
44:04State coming back. They were down 2-1 early in this series, and they're a game away from a championship,
44:10and it's going to tip off at 9.30 in the morning on the West Coast. So kids who have
44:17been going to all
44:17these games are obsessed with the team. Fans, men, women can't watch this, have to take a day off from
44:24work. Get the hell out of here. That's an embarrassment. And the Atlanta Dream issued a
44:29statement. It was a lengthy one. It was really well done. You know, this is something they talked to the
44:34league about two months ago. Two months ago. And if it was a league that had any idea what the
44:41hell
44:41they were doing, they would have looked at all the teams in the playoffs, gone through a deep dive into,
44:46if you share an arena, and of course the Dream should be playing in the Hawks arena with the
44:51opportunity to have all these amazing fans who love the Dream in Atlanta to be there for this
44:57basketball team, be there for Angel Reese and company, and this, you didn't realize there was conflict?
45:03And I don't want to hear because you can't do it, unfortunately. You know, I would have loved to
45:07move the Hawks and the Cavs game to the afternoon. If I was running the NBA, I would have an
45:13afternoon
45:13game every single day during the week. One afternoon game, I think that's great for the kids,
45:18great for, you know, the NBA in Europe. A lot of different reasons we've talked about that. You can't
45:22just flip-flop it like the Bucs did when the Brewers were in the World Series because the Cavs and
45:28the Hawks
45:29both play on Wednesday night, so you can't turn them around when they get in the wee hours of
45:33the morning, and it makes no sense. But this is something the WNBA should have looked into.
45:39So now you have these great Golden State players who've had unbelievable fans the entire year,
45:45and their fans have to wake up on the West Coast and try and see a championship. And by the
45:50way,
45:50don't know about this. What if they win? Do they have to cut the celebration short? Can they not
45:57celebrate on the court and have a real trophy presentation because they're going to get the
46:01court ready for the NBA later that day? What a disaster. The WNBA is amazing. The quality of play,
46:09the teams, the expansion teams, the depth, the talent, everything with Las Vegas and with
46:15the Liberty and Toronto and Golden State and the Fever. I mean, it's been outstanding. The
46:22Lynx. It's been an incredible season. Only the WNBA and Kathy Engelbert could ruin the WNBA.
46:27This is not how a respectable sports league should be treated. A pathetic, embarrassing debacle.
46:35In some ways, a fitting end to an end of an error. That's E-R-R-O-R for Kathy
46:42Engelbert as the
46:43overmatched clown masquerading as the commissioner of the WNBA. That's the show. If you missed any
46:49portion of the show, just do what I do. Rewatch it over and over again. Go to our YouTube page.
