03:25I know you got to kick it off, and something terrible can happen on a kickoff.
03:28I understand that, but they got to go the whole way down the field with no timeouts
03:33and score a touchdown instead of what ended up possibly being able to happen.
03:40And so that's where I don't, like, I need, like, I have to question the analytics on it,
03:46like, and it's not like it's an anti-analytics thing.
03:48It's a, what does common sense tell you, or how can analytics make that out of that?
03:53Because, yeah, you're trying to end the football game.
03:54And you would have ended the football game.
03:56You get one yard, you end the game, everybody goes there, everybody goes home,
04:00that's the end of it.
04:01But when they get the ball back, and I was still trying to feel pretty confident,
04:04but I'm going, man, we've had some crazy finishes here before.
04:07If they go down there, they kick a field goal here, and then they get us an overtime,
04:11like, I'm not going to be able to pick myself up off the floor
04:14after the way that this thing is gone.
04:16And I know you can't sit there and coach scared all the time like that,
04:19but I just really am surprised that the analytics would say that.
04:22Well, and the analytics always are not taking into account the particular game,
04:27what we've seen so far, offensive line push,
04:32the ability of an offense to do things, execute them without committing penalties,
04:37like, doesn't take into consideration any of that.
04:39Obviously, if there would have been a penalty, then, you know,
04:42they're obviously going to just then kick the field goal.
04:44But that's the hard part of it.
04:46Now, on the flip side of it, to play devil's advocate,
04:49it says, hey, it's a trap to kick the field goal
04:52because now the other team knows they have to score a touchdown.
04:56So they're going to go for it on every fourth down.
04:58They're going to run different plays than they would otherwise.
05:01And so they're factoring that in.
05:03I just don't think, in that situation,
05:07Bryce Young was capable with no timeouts of getting it all the way into the end zone.
05:11I just don't think they were capable.
05:13So I thought they opened the door to the only way that Carolina could have won the game,
05:17was to not kick the field goal.

05:24But when we have the exact same thought, that kind of scares me.
