Former child star Jonathan Taylor Thomas, best known for playing Randy Taylor on “Home Improvement,” has been arrested in California following an incident involving a vehicle stopped by deputies.
According to reports, Thomas was a passenger in the vehicle during a DUI investigation in Westlake Village. Deputies allegedly asked him to remain inside, but authorities say he got out and did not follow their instructions.
Law enforcement officials said Thomas was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and obstruction after allegedly interfering with the investigation. People reported that authorities also accused him of kicking a deputy in the stomach while officers attempted to detain him.
Thomas was taken to the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station, booked and later released. The allegations have not been established as proven facts, and the case remains subject to the legal process.
The arrest comes shortly after Thomas made a rare public appearance alongside his former “Home Improvement” co-stars Patricia Richardson and Taran Noah Smith.
Thomas became one of the most recognizable child actors of the 1990s before stepping away from Hollywood. He later returned briefly to television, including appearances and directing work on “Last Man Standing.”
