Jerry Jones had plenty to smile about after the Dallas Cowboys bounced back with a 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
The Cowboys responded strongly after their disappointing Week 1 performance, with Dak Prescott throwing four touchdown passes. Prescott also made franchise history, recording his 249th career touchdown pass with Dallas to move past Tony Romo for the team’s all-time record.
Jones joked with reporters after the win, delivering a memorable line about his plans and ambitions.
“Nothing more dangerous than an old man with money,” Jones said. “That’s my quote of the day.”
The Cowboys owner also admitted he was concerned about the possibility of starting the season 0-2.
“I really was worried about what it was going to be like if we did end up 0-2,” he said.
“I can't say that I was a color of strength in my mentality coming into the game because I've got a lot of respect for the coaching over on the Washington Commanders side.”
“Having said all of that, this was a very important win for us, important to these guys who put the work in, the coaching staff, for Brian (Schottenheimer), and I'm really proud of them.”
