Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffers knee injury

The New York Giants’ strong start to the season took a worrying turn Monday night after quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a left knee injury against the Los Angeles Rams.

The injury occurred during New York’s opening drive when Dart took a high-low hit from Rams defenders in the first quarter. Dart immediately grabbed his knee and was later seen limping toward the locker room after being evaluated by the team’s medical staff.

The fact that his leg was not firmly planted when the hit occurred may reduce concern about a serious ACL injury, but the situation remains uncertain. According to an NFL source cited in the report, there is a possibility Dart sustained an MCL issue.

Dart was initially examined inside the medical tent before teammates gathered nearby as they waited for an update. He eventually left for the locker room under his own power.

With Dart sidelined, veteran quarterback Jameis Winston entered the game for the Giants.
