00:00I mean, for us, they have recognized that the state of emergency has not been successful.
00:06They have no crime plan. And here again, I mean, the measures are going to be very similar.
00:13But this one, of course, the Prime Minister has a lot of discretion.
00:17We await the bill because we have recognized that this government is not serious about Topeka.
00:23The PNM political leader Penelope Beckles spent most of her day in Topeka
00:28celebrating her birthday at the PNM's National Women's League brunch
00:33at the Hampton Lowlands Multipurpose Facility on Saturday.
00:37She said the Prime Minister needs to address the nation on the abuse of powers of the State of Emergency
00:43SOE.
00:44It's about time that the Honourable Prime Minister comes and addresses the nation
00:49and tells the nation what is your crime plan.
00:53It's not sufficient to put it simply to use data and say to us there's a reduction here and there's
01:00a reduction here.
01:01Because you can ask people at the moment, I mean, do you really feel safer?
01:05I mean, listening to the Minister of Homeland Security, you know, giving all this data,
01:11to give the impression as though, you know, you have done so well as it relates to crime.
01:15But we understand that a lot of the successes are related to the fact that they have been abusing their
01:23powers.
01:23She said the Prime Minister has questions to answer.
01:26And you're actually giving data. As a matter of fact, you're giving evidence.
01:31You're telling us what God may belong to. You're telling us these people unknown to the police.
01:36You're literally talking as if you have evidence as it relates to these persons having committed some crime.
01:44And after days in custody, we just simply released them.
01:49I mean, the people of Trinidad and Tobago are really, really disappointed that this government's prime plan is the state
01:57of an agency.
01:58She said the Prime Minister must reveal the names of the two independent senators whom she claimed wanted bribes to
02:05support the Zoso bill,
02:06which was previously brought to Parliament.
02:09Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
02:15We are a Christian.
02:15I mean, we really appreciate that.
02:15And we have a Christian.
