00:00The West Indies play the opening test against homeside Bangladesh from October 28th with
00:05preparations currently in progress. Prior to touching down in Bangladesh, the Windies players
00:09were involved in a two-week camp in Chennai. According to Vice Captain Jamel Warrickon,
00:14starting from the camp to the current position, things are shaping up well going forward.
00:18The camp was so impressive for us, you know, the 10 to 12 days of preparation,
00:24adapting to the time zone was very important and the plans that Coach Floyd had settled for us
00:28was spot on. So well done to Coach Floyd on that. But a couple of days before the game,
00:34I think the guys are putting in some very good work. Conditions are looking good.
00:39The guys are ready mentally and preparing extremely well.
00:42The last time Warrickon played international cricket was in early August when the West Indies
00:46hosted Pakistan for a test series in Trinidad. But he has been doing a lot of work in order
00:51to be ready for what lies ahead. Mentally, you know, you've got to stay in tune, stay ready for
00:56the opportunity, stay ready for the moment. Also, you've got to be keep on working on your game,
01:00working on your craft, whether it's bowling, batting, also doing a lot of gym work as well.
01:07So when you get an opportunity to play, know in these times that you're ready.
01:10The West Indies are currently eighth on the World Test Championship table and want to finish higher.
01:15But in order to get there, the men in Maroon have their work cut out for them against Bangladesh.
01:20Yeah, it will be a great achievement for us. You know, we started out in 2025 with a plan and
01:25a goal
01:25and the goal is to always finish sixth or fifth, knowing that we had Australia, India and New Zealand first.
01:30But this year is our year now to show dominance and we have been doing a great job so far.
01:35And it would be ideal if we could come and win these last two games and finish fifth or sixth
01:40in the World Test Championship.
01:42Warrickon says the top priority is to win the series, while his personal goal is to get closer to 100
01:47test wickets,
01:48with 16 more scalps needed to take him to the milestone.
