00:00Good morning. It is the last day of meteorological summer and well what a summer it has been.
00:07But to end it we are seeing some showers around. We've had low pressure that's clearing its way
00:12out towards the North Sea so it will turn brighter and more in the way of some sunshine
00:16across eastern parts of the UK this morning. But from the west some showers will bubble up
00:21so as we go into the afternoon the showers will push their way eastwards so especially
00:26across the southeast of England likely to see a shower later on today. The odd rumble of thunder
00:31can't be ruled out but towards the west we have this ridge of high pressure extending so that will
00:36help fade the showers to leave a largely settled afternoon to come. A bit more in the way of cloud
00:42across the far north and west of Northern Ireland but for most places it's not too bad of a bank
00:48holiday. Monday highs of up to 19 degrees in the north, 22 in the south so around average for the
00:55time of year. To end Monday the showers will soon start easing and fading away as we end
01:01the night. So clear spells developing across England and Wales. Across Scotland showery outbreaks of rain
01:07moving through. Similar picture across Northern Ireland as well and here temperatures around 14 or 15
01:13degrees. Somewhat fresher across England and Wales lows of 11 or 12. That leads to a bright start
01:21though across England and Wales into Tuesday. Good deal of blue sky. A few showers around in the west
01:26but across Scotland that's where we have this front sinking its way south and eastwards. So bringing
01:32some heavier spells of rain and that just stalls to bring a focus for rain across a central part of
01:37Scotland. Northern Ireland seeing a few showers but mixed in with some sunny spells. A similar picture
01:42towards the west. Best of the dry weather towards the far east. Temperatures up at around 23 degrees in the
01:50south east. But cooler behind this front at only 15 degrees in the far north of Scotland. Now that is
01:56all from me for now. Enjoy your bank holiday Monday and I'll speak to you soon. Bye bye.
