Been trying to make everything single leg lately, starting with single leg leg press today. Working one leg at a time so I can really focus on catching my surgery leg up to where it needs to be β€” but I'll admit, it's tough holding back on my non-surgery leg when I know I could go so much heavier on it.

This is the real challenge of unilateral training during ACL recovery β€” it's not just about doing the reps, it's about resisting the urge to overload the stronger leg just because you can. Staying patient with the process, even when one side clearly has more left in the tank, is what actually closes the imbalance gap over time.

Training the weaker side patiently while your stronger side wants more is a real mental battle. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of imbalance frustration during recovery?

00:04I've been trying to do everything more single-legged because my right leg which
00:11is the uninjured one sometimes be taken over so I'll be doing my best to kind of
00:17work them individually so I can get that full gain in my other one I also kind of
00:23feel bad for my right leg because I know I can go heavier but I'm not trying to
00:30make one leg super big or anything like that okay I wasn't counting we're gonna
00:34call that seven
01:03and then we're just gonna assume that's enough to be honest with you now this is
01:09the leg I'd be worried about and also so I don't know if you can see this from over
01:15here but you see how this leg goes into my chest right and that's comfortable it's
01:21good I feel like that's a normal range of motion on this one as soon as I so I
01:30start here and my knee starts bowing out over here and I don't know why that is
02:03so
02:33Then feel right there.
02:34but also didn't feel bad, so.
