00:00I think there's been a lot of dialogue on whether Todd Munkin could just break the rules,
00:06his own rules, and just name the quarterback.
00:09If it's going to be Watson, and even I think I saw some Shador,
00:13the people who were squarely in the Shador corner on all of this,
00:17kind of admit like, hey, it does look.
00:20It does look like everything's trending towards Deshaun.
00:22I'm glad they're not moving the goalpost.
00:23That's all right.
00:24That's good.
00:24No, that's okay.
00:25It's not like his career's not over if he doesn't start week one here, guys.
00:28Also, that's the other thing.
00:30I think we have done our best to try to say, hey, look, it's not going to be easy for
00:35Shador
00:36to try and play at a level to dissuade the Browns from picking somebody high in the first round,
00:42whatever, but he's going to get his opportunity.
00:45And I think that's if you are all about Shador, if that's all you care about,
00:49if you're not even a Browns fan and you're just a Shador fan and you parachute it into our situation
00:54and all you want to do is call out the media or whatever, go every day and say everything's unfair
00:59to Shador, fine.
01:01That's your prerogative.
01:02But understand that he's going to get a look.
01:04He's going to get plenty of games this year.
01:06Yes, he is.
01:07You want to talk about things that would stun me the most?
01:10What would stun me the most is if Deshaun Watson played 17 games this year for the Cleveland Browns.
01:17That would be the all-time stunner.
01:18I mean, Jonathan already highlighted the arm numbness and things.
01:21Now, I thought he was highlighting it for the wrong reasons.
01:23We might get back into that coming up later in the show.
01:25So, like, he's not going to play 17 games.
01:27I really don't think.
01:28Will he make it through five?
01:30Either because of health and performance.
01:31I don't.
01:32I got to tell you, I'm month to month on him.
01:34Like, when he gets the.
01:35Because I think he's going to be named the starter here probably next week.
01:38When he gets named the starter next week, I give him until the end of September.
01:44Or do you really go, hey, uh-uh.
01:46Week three.
01:47That's what everybody's circling on the calendar.
01:49I bet it's going to be.
01:50I think a lot of people are going to go, no, no, no, no, no.
01:51You mark that back, week three might be the time where Shador gets to go.
01:56I mean, and in the grand scheme of things, two weeks, you get 15 games,
02:00you're going to get a hell of a sample size.
02:01And I do think that some of us are starting to become pragmatic about that,
02:06which is a good thing.
02:07All right, you're either coming around on Deshaun Watson
02:09or you will just watch any football that's thrown in front of you.
02:13Did I say coming around?
02:15Maybe you're at least curious about Deshaun.
02:17Not coming around.
02:18Maybe hate watching.
02:19Let me, yeah, let me walk that back for a second.
02:22You're either curious about Deshaun or you're just so starved for football,
02:26and this is why it's a reason or a question because it is a football-rich area.
02:33Would you just be willing to watch any football they put in front of you?
02:36Because Lima has some numbers there in front of him that he wants to read off
02:39to everybody.
02:40Go ahead.
02:40Every time.
02:41See, I took this different than you did, but go.
02:42Yeah, every time, Kenny, that there is some on social media,
02:48some way that they try to measure fandom, it's always a joke.
02:52It's always algorithmic.
02:55It's always, it just seems.
02:58Well, it's usually, honestly, it's usually an app that somebody's trying to get sold,
03:01so they're trying to get clicks.
03:03And so they go, hey, this is the sports.
03:05These are the ones that have sex the most.
03:07These are the ones that lead in divorce, these fan bases.
03:10These are the ones that lead in depression and happiness and all that other crap
03:14because they're trying to sell a website.
03:15It seems like junk science.
03:16It doesn't seem like, and I know nobody trusts polls at all,
03:20even though Kenny is somebody who took polling classes,
03:23political science polling classes.
03:25I believe in them very strongly.
03:26Yeah, but everybody calls you a liar on the internet,
03:28so what the hell has that got to do with anything?
03:29They do.
03:29So this was Nielsen, and Nielsen is considered the gold standard
03:35when it comes to market research and measuring audiences.
03:41They went through and ranked all 32 NFL teams.
03:46They call it their fandom index.
03:48So this, to me, is the most comprehensive one of these that I've ever seen.
03:52And I'll just...
03:54Because it's everything.
03:55It's obviously attendance, it's viewership, it's streaming, radio.
03:59Oh, attendance too.
04:00Radio listening.
04:02Then it went into taking into consideration.
04:05They explained all this in depth.
04:07Like only the nerdy scientists there that do this when it comes to the numbers.
04:12Social media, betting intent, general interest, goes on and on.
04:17So it does make sense.
04:20That's the bottom 10 in this.
04:22And this is what kind of we've always assumed when it comes to these kind of things,
04:25when it comes to the NFL.
04:26New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tampa, St. Pete, Phoenix, Atlanta.
04:32It's a bunch of transient, right?
04:34That's what highlights the lesser when it comes to this.
04:39And the smaller markets tend to be at the top.
04:42So, number one is Buffalo.
04:44Number two, Kansas City.
04:45Number three, Green Bay.
04:47This one surprised me.
04:48Number four was Cincinnati.
04:49I know they've had Joe Burrow.
04:51And having Joe Burrow probably lifted them into an upper echelon.
04:57Well, Joe Burrow's a very popular quarterback.
04:58You do see Joe Burrow jerseys all across the country.
05:01Not just Bengals fans.
05:02But you wonder how much longer is that going to continue?
05:05At least for one more.
05:06At least for this one last summer.
05:08And we'll see what happens if he's healthy.
05:09I wish nothing against Joe Burrow.
05:11He's a good guy.
05:11Go ahead.
05:12Philadelphia, number five.
05:14And then rounding out, number six through ten,
05:17is Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans.
05:20I thought it was interesting.
05:21New Orleans and Detroit were tied for eight.
05:23And then Cleveland, number ten.
05:28And you actually took this differently than I did.
05:30Well, I thought people were going to pounce immediately
05:32because I know there's been...
05:34I don't know if it's brainwashing or what,
05:37but anytime something like this comes up,
05:39Clevelanders just assume we're number one or number two
05:42on these lists every single time.
05:43Top five.
05:44And yes, you'll see a bunch of people assume that we're in the top five.
05:48And I sent this to the group and I said,
05:51is this the Deshaun Watson factor?
05:54Has it been four years of Deshaun Watson has dragged us down this list?
05:59Because not just Deshaun, they haven't won.
06:01And even though they did make the playoffs in one of those years,
06:03which was exciting and all of that,
06:05wasn't enough to pull us up to that top five
06:08that I think people always seem like we have a birthright
06:11to be placed in that list.
06:14So there's a couple things.
06:16And what is the sample size over the time?
06:19What is the time?
06:20It says eight key metrics, but is this like over one week?
06:23Or what was the time frame here?
06:27This says 2025.
06:29Okay, so this is the whole year?
06:31I think it means a few things.
06:33One, to still be top 10 shows you how ardent your fan base is
06:37considering how downtrodden it's been over the last couple of years
06:39and how much they dislike number four.
06:42All right?
06:43It's still a top 10 market for all these metrics put together.
06:47Two, yeah, I think that I look at Kansas City and I go,
06:51yeah, there's a lot of people who consider themselves
06:53not the one in the sausage closet.
06:55He was a Chiefs fan way before it.
06:57But I think there's a lot of people who consider themselves
06:59quote-unquote diehard Kansas City Chiefs fans
07:02who can never, ever name the quarterback
07:03who was right before Patrick Mahomes
07:05and can never name any of the tight ends
07:07before Travis Kelsey or anything like that.
07:09Certainly not talking about anybody with the last name Lotteman in there.
07:12The other part of it is, is that Cincinnati,
07:15I think they're in the top five because of Joe Burrow,
07:17just like we had mentioned.
07:20Also, you know, you brought up,
07:21oh, you're going to get me smoked, but that's okay.
07:25I think it goes to show you just exactly how real
07:31the fan base of another certain quarterback is.
07:35Only number 10?
07:38It's a pretty loud fan base.
07:40We're only number 10 on that?
07:43Everybody buying the jersey?
07:45We're still only number 10 on him?
07:48Now, I'm sure if he goes out and he performs well
07:51and they're successful, that ranking will go up.
07:54But that was 2025, right?
07:57All of 2025.
07:58You remember, you and I got hammered
08:00for when we talked about how no one was at the stadium
08:03for the first start and everything like that.
08:06And I don't know.
08:07All these metrics are put in here, Anthony.
08:09Only top 10?
08:10I mean, that's still pretty good.
08:13You can look at it two ways.
08:14You can look at it and go, well, he's a fifth-rounder
08:16and being in the top 10 is fantastic for a fifth-rounder.
08:19Or you can go, maybe they're just not as...
08:23They're boisterous, but maybe there's just not as many
08:25as we make it out to be.
08:26I'm not trying to be mean.
08:27I'm just trying to be honest.
08:29We compared, or at times I've compared it to Tebow Mania.
08:33And I don't mean that to be a negative.
08:36I think that's awesome that a player has that kind of fan base.
08:39Like, that is very cool.
08:40I think a lot of these players tried to build
08:43their brands, and who's been able to build their brand
08:47to the level that Shador has for someone
08:50who's not a dominant starter.
08:52Right?
08:53That's true.
08:53But this is the whole thing I've been agitated with
08:57the whole time.
08:58It's like, we talk about him because he's in the running
09:02for the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns,
09:03and he probably will start many games for the Browns this year,
09:07even after...
09:08Because I do believe that De'Chon Watson
09:10will be made the starter next week at some point.
09:13But while that's all possibly there,
09:16yeah, he's got a strong fan base,
09:18but it's not the type of...
09:20I just think it's loud,
09:21and I think that some of us get a little overwhelmed.
09:24And it's served me well to just go after the show
09:28and go, that's it, and I'll share what I need to do,
09:31and that's it, and I don't need to sit there
09:33and respond to everybody calling me every name in the book
09:36after I say anything that might be somewhat somehow critical
09:39or taken somehow...
09:41Because some people just need disrespect in their lives.
09:44That I...
09:45Well, and all of a sudden you hate Shador.
09:46I'm like, no, I don't hate him.
09:47I obviously...
09:48Obviously, I don't.
09:50But I think that this goes to say,
09:51like, number 10,
09:52you would expect...
09:53I think if you were really in on the whole online fights
09:56with Shador fans,
09:57I think you would think that we're number 5,
09:59number 4, number 3, somewhere in there.
10:01Like, Buffalo and Kansas City,
10:03that's fish in a barrel.
10:04Great quarterbacks, good football teams,
10:06really good football teams.
10:07Looks at the Super Bowl.
10:08I mean, that's where it is.
10:10Green Bay, historically,
10:11great fan base, passionate fan base,
10:14very popular team.
10:15Kind of everybody's...
10:15Ned Flanders of the NFL.
10:17Like, you don't really hate Green Bay
10:19unless you're a Bears fan or a Lions fan
10:21or something like that.
10:22Like, I don't hate Green Bay.
10:23If you're not in that division,
10:24you don't hate him.
10:25So, those things are explainable.
10:27But I would have thought
10:28we would have been a little bit higher
10:30because of that bump of him.
10:32And I'm actually happy
10:33that we're still in the top 10
10:34considering how many people are just like,
10:36call me when you get a new QB.
10:38Call me when you get a new guy.
10:40That's what I know we got to go.
10:40I mean, we had people calling in
10:41threatening that they were done with the Browns
10:43if they do name Watson the Stars.
10:44I've seen it.
10:45I've seen that.
10:45What do you think that stadium will look like?
10:47Let's say week 3.
10:48Is it still going to be normal?
10:50Home opener?
10:50What's the record?
10:51Sellout?
10:52I was going to say regardless.
10:53Let's just say they're 0-2.
10:54I don't think there's going to be a lot of folks.
10:56I think they're going to...
10:57The first home game?
10:58Yeah, you'll have a sellout, quote-unquote.
11:00But I think you're still going to see
11:01Orange in the 500s.
11:02Yeah.
11:04I mean, the seats.
11:05Not what the people are wearing.
11:06Yeah, I do.
11:07They're not excited to see Denzel Boston,
11:09KC Concepcion, Jared Verse.
11:11They're excited to see Grant Delphine
11:12because I'm excited to see Grant Delphine
11:14and Denzel Ward.
11:15Yeah, there might be some.
11:17But I think it's very results-based right now.
11:20I mean, you've been put through the ringer.
11:22And I want people to go.
11:23Clearly, I want people to go.
11:24But I think that they've been put through the ringer.
11:26So, at number 10, hey, I'll take it
11:29and I'll be happy with it.
11:30I'll see you in 2027.
11:32Because I just don't know if it's going to be
11:34that same reaction.
11:35Because I'm not telling people they're going to be bad.
11:38I don't think that they're more bund.
11:40And I just think that there's plenty of holes here
11:43that would say, yeah, you're going to have to put together
11:45another draft or two.
11:46And you're going to have to find your guy at quarterback.
11:49You're going to have to find more young offensive linemen.
11:51You're going to have to find more guys in the secondary.
11:54You're going to have to find those guys.
11:55Like, that's where I'm at on that, Anthony.
11:57And I just think that that's not a bad thing.
11:59I think it's just the truthful thing
12:01of what we have to do as a franchise now.
12:04And I have to ask people to come along with the Browns.
12:08And if they don't want to, that's the beauty of being a fan.
12:10I'm not going to show up to your house.
12:12I'm not going to show up to Bob and Concord's house
12:15and go, you weren't there in 2026.
12:17I don't know what Bob and Concord's thinking.
12:20I'm not going to bother him on his front porch
12:21about the Browns.
12:22So if he shows up in 2028
12:24and he's been a season ticket holder before
12:26and he's buying into season ticket holders,
12:28being a season ticket holder again,
12:30well, am I going to cuss this guy out
12:31for not being around in 2026?
12:33No, no.
12:34That's what the beauty is up to the fans.
12:36It's their decision.
12:37So a lot of these metrics are money being spent,
12:41apparel purchases, event attendance.
12:43That costs you money.
12:44TV viewership seems to be free.
12:46Streaming seems to be free when you're watching sports.
12:48Radio seems to be free.
12:50Betting costs you money.
12:51Social media interests, things like that.
12:53I don't know what they mean by general interest,
12:55but I think it's an interesting metric
12:56of what they put out.
12:57But yeah, I think you can take it two ways
13:00and I think both of it has to go with the quarterbacks.
