00:00Even though he's an insider, so I think he'd probably be on the list anyway, like List Emeritus.
00:06List of people who we seriously take on who should start for the Cleveland Browns.
00:10But this isn't an opinion by him. More on the Cavs coming up here in about 20-25 minutes.
00:18So we have, the list goes, real quick, we're gonna have to need to put some music under the list
00:23or something like that at some point,
00:24but you know, I don't wanna...
00:25We'll get a list music thing.
00:27I'm not trying to be a maestro over here while we're in the middle of it, so here we go.
00:30Just do the read.
00:30Number one, fans, callers.
00:32Number two, all Cleveland sports media we included.
00:35That includes Fanta, who I just saw a video of him at the airport,
00:39because that's where he's basically at his entire life now is the airport.
00:43Mary Kay, Jason Lloyd, Bernie, Joe, John Greco, Kirk Herbstreet, Auburn Breer.
00:48Auburn Breer's an insider, too. Should I take him off the list?
00:52I thought we were just kind of taking inventory over what everybody thought.
00:55Emory Hunt, Kuiper, Trey Wingo, Stink, Jarvis, Odell, Joe Hayden, Josh Cribs, Tom Brady, Cody Kessler, Baker Mayfield, Brian Hoyer,
01:04Dan Orlovsky.
01:05I put Fanta again on the list.
01:06The big question was whether or not Johnny Manziel was.
01:09Jeremy Fowler was on SportsCenter the other day.
01:14Chris Mannix from SportsCenter will join us this morning at 9 o'clock.
01:16We'll talk Cavs with him.
01:18He was on SportsCenter the other day, and he reported that going into OTAs, it would seem that Deshaun Watson
01:24has the leg up, apparently, of the QB job,
01:27which two prevailing thoughts came out.
01:29One, why is Deshaun Watson still the leader in the clubhouse to be the quarterback of the Browns?
01:35And people are upset with that because they're upset with that.
01:40Not a lot of Browns fans do want to see him play.
01:43Number two, the whole leak factor that comes into this going, where are we getting leaks?
01:49Why is he saying this?
01:50Why is Breer saying these things?
01:52Where are these leaks coming from?
01:53I thought Todd Munkin was supposed to get rid of the leaks.
01:56And I go, can I just say something to that real quick?
01:59When people would expect Todd Munkin to free-flowing with as much as he is as honest as possible,
02:06you'd expect less leaks from Todd Munkin?
02:08I don't even think it's that.
02:09If we're talking about leaks anymore, I don't know if leaks are coming from inside the building.
02:13I think that the leaks, like there's definitely, because it's an open QB room,
02:19if you talk to the right people at the right time, there's definitely people who want Deshaun Watson
02:23and think Deshaun Watson's the leader, and there's definitely people who like Shador
02:27and think Shador's the leader.
02:28There's a lot of people in a building.
02:30So everybody has an opinion, depending on who you talk to.
02:33You could say, I talked to somebody in the building.
02:35Well, if I walk in the building and then you talk to me, someone in the building told me
02:39that Shador is looking real good.
02:40Yeah, it's me.
02:41It's Kenny Carmen.
02:42I told you that Shador looks really good.
02:44Like, so that's a weird rule.
02:46But let's be serious here.
02:49Agents matter.
02:50People around people matter.
02:52And you know as well as I know that there's definitely people around Deshaun Watson
02:55who like to speak to people.
02:57And it wouldn't surprise me none.
03:00Wouldn't surprise me whatsoever.
03:01And why wouldn't he want something like that out there?
03:03Oh, you're saying that Watson's camp is orchestrating this?
03:07No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
03:09No.
03:10Well, what are you saying then?
03:11That's not what I said.
03:12I said you cannot.
03:13You always do this, and it pisses me off to an obscene level.
03:16We all heard what you just said.
03:18We all heard what you just said.
03:19I said you have to factor in all things, and it's not just the building.
03:24Todd Munkin isn't secretly calling up Jeremy Fowler going,
03:27Hey, I just want to let you know that Deshaun Watson's the leader in the club.
03:30I'm not saying that.
03:31But I think it's crazy that there was a time in 2011 where we thought everything was coming out of
03:37buildings.
03:37And I just think now in 2026, you have to look at agents.
03:41You have to look at business managers.
03:42You have to look at business partners.
03:44And you can't just look inside the building.
03:46That's what I'm saying.
03:47And you know as well as I know that there's people around all the quarterbacks,
03:50including Deshaun Watson, who love to talk to the media, love to talk to insiders quietly.
03:55That's what I'm saying.
03:56For the love of God.
03:58He's orchestrating.
03:59You know what you're saying when you use the term orchestrate.
04:02Don't bog me down.
04:03Don't do that.
04:04People can rewind it and tell me that all of a sudden I'm the one that's crazy here.
04:08If I wanted to say the term orchestrate, you know what you're doing.
04:11You know you're triggering me.
04:12If I wanted to say the word orchestrate, I'll say the effing word orchestrate.
04:16It orchestrate has a meaning behind it, and you know it does.
04:19So don't even start with me on that.
04:20So let's continue the conversation, shall we?
04:23Yeah, sure.
04:24Okay, fine.
04:26What to me is pretty clear here is there does seem to be,
04:30and maybe it's for a managing of the expectations so that they don't get killed when it's Deshaun Watson,
04:36you know, is the starting quarterback, which I've tried to make the case.
04:39I think that actually could be not the worst thing in the world for Shador.
04:43Like, I actually think him being able to sit there and watch properly as opposed to last year,
04:50which was you're the four-stringer, and everybody else gets these reps ahead of you.
04:54Like, actually just being the backup and letting things play out.
04:58How do we think things are going to play out with Watson as the quarterback?
05:01I can see that way with common sense, but I don't think us and the media will allow it.
05:04I think we'll start saying crazy things.
05:07Yeah, I mean, but what does it matter what the media says compared to what actually is transpiring behind the
05:12scenes?
05:12Well, it seems to be that we have all the power in the world, according to some folks out there.
05:16So I think that the media, the Internet, will lose their minds
05:19and start saying things that you just can't take back about it.
05:21But either way.
05:22Yeah, I mean, look.
05:23It's a nice thought.
05:24I just don't think it's realistic.
05:25Either way, like the fact that so many people have come out of the woodwork to say that Watson is
05:32looking good
05:33when there hasn't been anything to look at.
05:34What's there been to look at?
05:36So where would that be coming from?
05:38You know what I mean?
05:38Like, there have been three install sessions.
05:42But that's what I'm pointing out.
05:44There's definitely people in the building who feel one way or the other, without a doubt.
05:48Is Jeremy Fowler and Albert Breer and everybody talking to all of them?
05:51Not just all of them.
05:52Come on.
05:53That's what I'm pointing out.
05:54Not orchestrate.
05:56Let's have common sense.
05:57They've also been pretty plugged in to organizational members over the years.
06:01I think that's been pretty obvious.
06:03So I just wonder if the Browns are trying to manage this by saying,
06:08hey, don't lose your mind if the guy you don't want is the leader
06:13and ends up being number one and starts the preseason game
06:17and then goes into the season as a starter.
06:20Don't lose your mind.
06:21We're trying to delicately play that game with a guy that you guys don't necessarily want to see
06:28by the numbers.
06:31Again, I will always point out, if Todd Munkin makes his decision and it's Deshaun Watson,
06:37I'll accept it.
06:39The fear I would have, I don't think it's a fear.
06:41The concern I would have is the fallout behind it.
06:45Because we lived through it last year.
06:46Let's not play stupid.
06:48If you pick Deshaun Watson, there is going to be an uproar of people.
06:54And there's going to be an uproar of people who don't even necessarily love Shador.
06:58They just don't want to see Deshaun Watson play.
06:59Oh yeah, for sure.
07:00And so if you're making the decision to start Deshaun Watson,
07:03you better be damn sure that he is head and shoulders above everything else.
07:08Which I don't want to get to a point where it's like,
07:11all right, if Deshaun Watson plays poorly, then you put in Shador.
07:14And then Shador, just to prove Todd Munkin right, is to end up playing poorly as well.
07:19Which is a possibility that could happen.
07:21I don't think anybody wants that.
07:23I just want the best quarterback to play.
07:25And if it ends up, and I want Shador to play.
07:26But if it ends up being Deshaun Watson and Todd Munkin has made that decision as the head coach,
07:31which he should, then I'll accept that.
07:33I have to.
07:34But when I'm hearing some of the stuff going on,
07:36it's like, well, we have to consider the sources here, guys.
07:39And it's exactly what you said.
07:41There's been very little that's been open to anybody,
07:44let alone other people in the building or to the media.
07:47Very little at all.
07:48So there's going to be a lot of hearsay.
07:50And when you have people who are around quarterbacks,
07:54which there's a lot around both these guys,
07:56there's going to be things that are said.
07:57But it's odd that I'm hearing only one thing about Deshaun Watson.
08:00I'm not hearing very much at all about Shador Sanders being the leader
08:04or having a chance to be the leader.
08:05But isn't that simply because all they've done is install stuff, right?
08:11It's not like they've been fully in pads and going 11 on 11.
08:15So because of that, the edge that Watson was always going to have
08:19was the experience, the amount of different coaches he's been with,
08:24the amount of different installations, the football jargon over time.
08:28When Shador is working at a deficit just by virtue of experience, lack of experience.
08:34He's never had a full year as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
08:38It's just never been that.
08:39It's been baptism by fire.
08:41And I'd say the same thing if it were year seven in the NFL of Shador Sanders
08:46and he was going up against a rookie.
08:48Then Shador would be in the lead.
08:50And that's all I've...
08:50It's not his fault.
08:51And the only thing I've tried to explain throughout all of it,
08:54when I've gotten my head bit off about, you know,
08:56maybe I tried to tell people that Kevin Stefanski was his best friend
08:59and nobody wanted to listen to it.
09:00And I go, well, hold on.
09:02Not that they get along personally.
09:04Not that they love each other personally.
09:05But who's more likely to go with the status quo?
09:08Would it be Kevin or would it be the 60-year-old head coach
09:11who's a head coach for the first time and maybe the only time?
09:14It's going to be Kevin.
09:16That's who it would have been.
09:16Now, Kevin could have looked at it and go,
09:18okay, I get the decision now.
09:19I'm going to go back to Deshaun Watson.
09:20He could have very well done that.
09:22That's very well possible.
09:23And he would have been even more of a villain
09:25to a lot of the fans of what he already is.
09:28But when you have a new guy coming in,
09:30now we have to look at it with a fresh perspective.
09:32If he picks Deshaun Watson, then let's be serious.
09:35It forces us to observe Shador Sanders in a different light.
09:402-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
09:42And take some of the emotion that we've had for it out of it.
09:48Because we do have a season that we have to get going to.
09:51And they are, even though not a lot of people think that they can,
09:54they're trying to win football games.
