00:05accident last night in Westmoreland County. The coroner says it happened a few minutes after 8
00:11p.m. on I-70 in South Huntington Township. Margaret Usak's SUV left the interstate,
00:17hit the guardrail, and overturned. Usak was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
00:23The owner of two dogs that killed a family's pet emu in McKeesport is facing legal consequences.
00:28Allegheny County's dog warden filed eight summary charges against Amber Alexander. Her daughter,
00:34Constance, talked with KDKA-TV. As far as I know, we were told if we had an issue with one
00:40charge that
00:41we should just plead not guilty to all of them. That's what we were advised. So I guess that's
00:46what we're doing. I don't know. My mom was doing all that. After Alexander enters the pleas, a judge
00:52will decide if the dogs are dangerous. If the judge makes that determination, the owner can appeal.
00:57But if no appeal is filed, the owner has two options. Have the dogs euthanized or keep them
01:02leashed and muzzled. A 19-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to serve 35 years to life in state prison
01:09for killing a classmate at Oliver Citywide Academy. This happened back in 2023. Jamier Perry shot Derek
01:16Harris 10 times, telling police he did it because Harris took his Beats headphones two days earlier.
01:22Perry pleaded guilty in June to first-degree murder. Now for adults, the mandatory sentence is
01:27life without parole. But because Perry was 15 at the time of the fatal shooting, the mandatory minimum

01:41A new report shows where Pennsylvanians live may matter. News Radio KDK's Tamara Rush has details in the
01:48newsroom. Well, Paul, the Center for Royal Pennsylvania's 2025 county-level life expectancy
01:52analysis shows the average Pennsylvanian lives about 77 and a half years. But there's a nearly 10-year
02:00gap depending on where you live. Allegheny County's average is about 77 years. Center County ranks highest
02:06with residents living about 82 years on average, followed by Chester County at 81 years. At the other end,
02:13Forest County's average is about 72 years. The Center says those differences can be linked to factors
02:20like health care access, economic conditions, and other community factors that influence health.

02:47much, much bigger, and not just like two or three times bigger, a million, million times faster,
02:52a million, million times bigger. On the Big K Morning Show, Rutenbar said Pitt and CMU have five
02:57million dollars from the National Science Foundation to build the quantum computer. Construction starts in
03:03September. The computer could be operating by early 2027.
