00:05Terraces here at Pittsburgh International Airport are really important to us because they give everybody who relies on this airport
00:12an opportunity to get closer to nature.
00:14Capturing the essence of the region and really bringing nature back to the airport were two of the primary drivers
00:19of the landscape design.
00:21Here on the Southlandside Terrace, that's where we have this idea of a Western Allegheny Plateau.
00:26It's the warmer, more active terrace. It has the sinuous walkway that ties all the spaces together and really is
00:33intended to reflect the concept of a riverbed and the different zones that you would experience along that.
00:39It's a pavilion. It's surrounded by forest. It's surrounded by green spaces. But above all, it's a place where people
00:46can come and spend their time.
00:49We're one of the few airports in the United States that has access to the outdoors like this without the
00:54cost of entry.
00:55You don't have to pay. You don't have to be a member of a certain club. You can just access
01:00the outdoors.
01:01It builds on the idea that Pitt had on, you know, well-being is so important in the way we
01:08design our buildings nowadays.
01:10And to do that at an airport is also very unique.
