00:12all means. Yeah, Paul, back in March, the state Supreme Court ruled that mandatory life sentences
00:17without parole for second-degree murder are unconstitutional. It issued a 120-day stay for
00:23lawmakers to create new rules. Well, that deadline is here, leaving the legal status of more than
00:281,100 inmates uncertain. On Thursday, the House narrowly passed a sentencing bill with no mandatory
00:35minimum sentences. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday strongly criticized the House version
00:40as grossly inadequate and too lenient for violent crimes. Now, Allegheny County District Attorney
00:47Stephen Zappala has filed a petition with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court requesting a 120-day

00:59McKnight Road was closed for about four hours last night in Ross Township after a fatal incident.
01:04Police say a 15-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle a few minutes before 10 p.m. in

01:26Hill District. Police called to the Bedford dwellings around 3 a.m. found a man with a gunshot wound in
01:31the back. He was rushed to a hospital and died about 45 minutes later. His identity has yet to be
01:37released and it's unclear if anyone is in custody. Sixteen people have been indicted, accused of providing
01:43drugs and guns to street-level gangs based in the Hill District. But the FBI's Rick Ivanchek says the
01:49crime was not limited to Pittsburgh. The actors today are the individuals that were fueling drug
01:54trafficking and gun trafficking for the entire region of southwestern Pennsylvania. Operation
02:00Steel Reaper netted four kilos of cocaine along with suspected heroin and fentanyl. Ivanchek says
02:06the fentanyl alone could have killed thousands. Another night of attacks by the U.S. military on
