00:00A lesson I've learned from this whole experience is definitely don't take your hair for granted
00:04because once it breaks, it's broken and it's worth taking care of it.
00:09Hi, my name is Allie and today I'm getting my hair color corrected.
00:12But before you see my transformation, subscribe below.
00:17I'm looking to get my hair color corrected today because I absolutely obliterated it with bleach
00:22in the beginning of quarantine.
00:24Over the years, I've participated in a lot of different modeling work and runway shows
00:28where my hair has been kind of put into crazy situations.
00:31So going into this home bleach process with all the breakage from that experience with modeling
00:38did not help things.
00:40I've had a lot more breakage, even more breakage than there was before.
00:44My current blonde look definitely helped me make the best of the quarantine summer,
00:49but I'm definitely ready to go back to brunette.
00:53I'm really hoping that the transition back to a natural color sells as natural.
00:59Hi there.
01:00Hi, I'm Adriana and I'm a colorist based here in Los Angeles.
01:03I'm best known for creating hair color with a lot of dimension and having it look natural.
01:08There's a few steps that go into the process that we're going to do today.
01:11Let's get started.
01:12Awesome.
01:13I'm so excited.
01:14Great.
01:15The first thing I'm going to do with Allie's hair is I'm going to wet it down.
01:19You want to make sure it's towel dried extremely well.
01:22Honestly, I can't get through my days without my assistant and I'm just thankful she was
01:27able to help me on this project today.
01:30The most important step in this whole process is the filling of the hair.
01:35Without that, you're not going to get a pretty hair color.
01:38I have to go in and replace the underlying pigment that was taken out from the bleaching
01:44and I do that and leave it on for about 10 minutes.
01:47The underlying pigments in Brunette's hair can range from red to red orange.
01:54A red would be anywhere from dark brown to medium brown and a red orange would be anywhere
02:01from a light brown, possibly sometimes to a dark blonde.
02:07Next, I will put a demi-permanent color on her to add a second layer in order to hold
02:15the color and have her color last longer.
02:19I'm super excited to have my hair go back to its normal, original color and I'm so stoked
02:25that I actually get to work with a professional this time and not just my boyfriend and bleach
02:30from a beauty supply store.
02:32So for my clients that are blonde that want to go brunette, I tell them to go to a wig
02:37shop and I tell them to put a wig on because 9 times out of 10, they think they want
02:42that
02:42but then when they put that wig on, they don't want that.
02:45If they're very serious about it, let's go in stages.
02:48Let's put a couple lowlights, let's take you a shade darker blonde and we move in baby steps.
02:58Some of the tips and tricks I tell my clients are it's best to get a water filter and to
03:03use professional shampoo and professional conditioner, something that would be sold in a salon or a
03:09beauty supply.
03:10When you're using drugstore, the guarantee just isn't there and you're rolling the dice with
03:15something that you paid a lot of money for.
03:19In the final step, I'm putting a demi-permanent color on her in case later on she wants to go
03:26lighter.
03:26It's an easy process to do so.
03:30I figured out how to perfect color correction.
03:34I'm going to be 110% honest.
03:36It was through trial and error and a lot of years of experience.
03:40I discovered my passion for hair when I moved to Los Angeles and like really just took everything in.
03:46When I'm walking down the street and I just pass somebody, I start envisioning what I can do for
03:52their hair or how to make it better or also say, wow, that person has amazing color.
03:56Seeing the way color was done down here, I've never looked back.
04:02So for Ali's cut, I'm not going to do anything crazy.
04:05I'm just going to take an inch off the bottom of her hair and frame around her face.
04:11Because she has a little bit of breakage from her home bleach job,
04:15I don't want to go in and overdo the cut.
04:22I actually went darker on the top and one shade lighter on the bottom.
04:28Naturally, our hair is always a bit darker on the top and lighter on the bottom,
04:32but I wanted to melt those two colors together and have it look as seamless as possible.
04:37So I just did that by going one shade lighter on the ends
04:41and then really emulsifying everything together so the look was flawless.
04:45Are you ready, Ali?
04:47Oh my gosh, this is so crazy.
04:50Totally looks natural.
04:52Wait, that's so insane.
05:03Buy a shower filter.
05:04You have a lot of minerals underwater.
05:06It'll help keep your hair soft.
05:07Thank you so much.
05:09Oh my gosh.
05:10It's just like, I can't believe it.
05:12Like, it's just such a trip.
05:13I can't believe it is.
05:15Overall, I'm feeling so good.
05:18Adriana did an amazing job making the brunette come off super natural.
05:23The result on Ali's hair, I was extremely happy with.
05:27It was shiny.
05:27It was healthy.
05:28It looked really natural and something she can grow out without any maintenance.
05:33She could leave it alone and not color it if she wanted to.
05:36My hair now definitely feels a lot softer and silkier,
05:40which I really want to be able to upkeep.
05:43And it's a lot nicer without super fried ends.
05:48After going through this whole experience,
05:50I probably won't undergo any sort of major hair transformation again anytime in the near future.
05:56I'm just super, super happy to be back to my natural brunette.
06:01And I'm just going to ride that wave as long as I can.
