00:14I have dyed my hair before, like at the end of my hair.
00:18But this time, I'd like to do a full-on balayage,
00:22that I actually turn almost blonde.
00:24I've never turned blonde.
00:25I've never thought it would look good on me.
00:27I'm afraid that with my pale skin, pale complexion,
00:31I would be a bit washed out.
00:33I saw Emma Roberts' picture and how she turned blonde,
00:36and it's kind of cool the way she didn't really turn completely blonde.
00:40She kept the roots darker,
00:42and that's what inspired me to try and do this.
00:45Now, let's head over to the salon to see the transformation.

00:53We're kind of doing more of like a Bojo Blonde, correct?

00:57I think we'll be kind of starting the color like probably around here,

01:07I was nervous to do this for about a couple of hours,
01:12and then I realized that no one is going to shave my head.
01:17I can still cover it up with a different color if it doesn't work.
01:20I mean, worst case scenario, people will think I lost it for a bit.
01:24So, no, I'm not too nervous.
01:26I think I'm more excited and just curious to see.
01:28You know, I'm in my 30s and I've never seen myself blonde,
01:31so I'm just curious to see what it looks like.
01:42I think I will be just excited to try new colors.
01:49Like, it's the first time.

01:51I've never had the pleasure of combining colors with blonde hair,
01:56so it will be just fun to do my hair differently.

02:43I'm going through an odd phase of transformation, if you like,
02:47meeting new friends, learning new language, going to new places,

02:52So I guess I'm just trying to be open to things that previously I wouldn't even consider.
02:58So if there's a time for me to try a hair transformation, it has to be now.
03:08Actually, my friends already expressed some strong opinions on this plan of mine.
03:13Most of them were freaking out on my behalf,
03:18but I think they will laugh and just, you know,
03:21they will never tell to my face it's ugly or like you don't look good with this.

03:51So today we're just doing like a very loose boho inspired braid with like a little loose wave.
03:56So what I'm going to do is put a little bit of volumizing tonic in your hair.
04:00What that's going to do is help give the hair a little bit of texture
04:02and I'll give it some guts.
04:03And I'm also going to use the Aveda Smooth Infusion to help protect against the heat.
04:17I don't think I'm going to feel very different.
04:20I mean, if it really doesn't feel like me, I might just feel a little disappointed,
04:28but I won't feel different.
04:30It's still me.
04:31It will be more like a fun thing to show off.
