00:25When I was a teenager, I just wanted to express myself.
00:29I would dye my own hair, I'd go to the salon and dye my hair, I'd bleach my own hair,

00:34shave my own head.
00:35It didn't really matter to me, I just wanted to have fun expressing myself.
00:39It took years for me to understand my hair and how to style it.
00:42For the last four years, I didn't even take a hot tool to it, did nothing to it.
00:48Now let's head over to the salon to see the transformation.
00:52I was thinking about doing a pastel blonde or like a platinum blonde.

01:10We'll do a bleach process twice.
01:13On top of that, we'll do a color to neutralize the yellow.
01:24Now that I've really nurtured my hair, I'm really nervous about dyeing it.
01:29That it's going to feel really bad or my curls will get lost, all my hard work will get lost.
01:37But at the same time, I'm excited to get rid of this thing that's holding me down.
01:45I don't like feeling attached to my hair.
01:48I don't like feeling like I need to be in service of it at all times.
01:57Even though the health of my hair is really important to me, expressing myself is more important

03:30minimal makeup, and I'm really excited to start putting a lot more time to myself.
