00:04Today's episode of Beauty With Me is going to be a little bit different.
00:07I'm going to show you guys how I prepare for an upcoming Beauty With Me shoot.
00:10I get a lot of questions on my videos and how they're shot, but there's so much more
00:14that goes on behind the scenes that you guys don't get to see.
00:16So I thought that I would show you guys a day of my life as a beauty writer and host
00:20here at Refiring 29.
00:21Plus, you'll get to see a couple of perfect matches that simplify my life because it can
00:25get a little bit hectic.
00:27Before we get started, though, I wanted to say a huge thank you to Shea Moisture for

01:00All right, enough of the gushy stuff, let's get into it.
01:05The first thing I do in the morning after waking up is brush my teeth and cleanse and
01:09prep my skin for the day ahead.
01:10Not gonna lie, I really burned the midnight oil last night so my face was looking red,
01:14puffy, and generally worse for wear.
01:16So I needed some products that'll get my skin in shape before my shoot later today.
01:22I've been using Shea Moisture's Transforming Macho Green Tea and Probiotics Clay to Cream
01:26Cleanser for the past few weeks and I love how lightweight and creamy it is.
01:30Plus, when you add a little bit of water to the clay, it transforms into a cream.
01:35It cleanses all the sweat and oil off my skin but never leaves it feeling tight or dry.
01:39I love how it perfectly matches with the toner too.

02:49Once I'm done, I'll change into my outfit for the day,
02:52pairing my favorite fall sweater with some lighter pants.
02:56I like to keep things simple, dressing things up with some matching accessories,
02:59like my jade ring and my jade bangle.
03:02Then it's time to head out.
03:03I'll grab everything I need for work, kiss my kitty goodbye,
03:06and start walking to the subway.
03:11I'm shooting a video later today, so I need to get some things done before then.
03:16Today, I had to answer some emails, write a short script,
03:18and meet with my team about a few upcoming episodes.
03:24Once that was done, I went to meet one of my bestest friends, Michelle Lee,
03:27who also happens to be Refinery29's associate stylist.
03:30Michelle and I have held a few different roles at Refinery29 over the years,
03:33but we became really close friends after we were desk mates back in 2016.
03:38She has made me exponentially more fashionable since I met her two years ago,
03:41and sometimes she's kind enough to match my outfits for my shoots.
03:46Now that I'm all gussied up, it's time to head to the studio.
03:54After getting all our equipment set up,
03:56I refreshed my makeup with the Shea Moisture Soothing Toner and Hydrating Mist
04:00and get to filming.
