00:00Hey guys, it's me Anne and this is Beauty With Me.
00:02It's been a minute since I've done a crazy facial on Beauty With Me.
00:06Remember the good old days of getting bird poop smeared all over my face
00:09and the crowd favorite vagina facial?
00:13Well, in my opinion, this one takes the cake
00:15because it gave me a glimpse at what I might look like if I ever reach 100 years old.
00:19Give me my dentures!
00:20Except for I'm gonna be a very virile 100 year old.
00:24I first saw the facial in an article on Cosmopolitan and flipped
00:28because the beauty director there did this facial
00:31and it literally looked like her face was about to burn right off.
00:35And the entire effect just looked like White Walker meets House of Whacked Victim
00:40meets Decrepit Old Lady.
00:42Cosmo called it the Game of Thrones facial,
00:44but I'm calling it the Grandma facial.
00:47So I zipped over to New Jersey to meet Laura Condon,
00:50licensed esthetician and founder of Beauty Buster
00:52to see what all the buzz was about.
00:55Hi! How are you? I'm Laura, nice to meet you.
00:57Hi, man. Welcome to the spa.
00:59Are you ready to get started for your Beauty Buster experience?
01:02Yes, I'm a little bit nervous.
01:04No, there's nothing to be afraid of.
01:05You're gonna love it.
01:06You're gonna be relaxed.
01:07You're in really good hands.
01:08Alright, I trust you.
01:09Okay, come on. Let's get started.
01:10The treatment itself is called the Oxygen Enzyme Facial.
01:13It costs around $150 and it's meant to brighten, tighten and smooth the skin.
01:18The facial started off pretty normally with just some gentle cleansing
01:22and a little bit of extractions.
01:24Then Laura moved on to an exfoliating peel.
01:27The peel itself smelled like cinnamon and not gonna lie,
01:30it kind of tingled and burned.
01:32I'm gonna have baby skin after this.
01:35Once it had sat on my skin for a few minutes,
01:37Laura started to dry rub my skin,
01:39removing all these little bits of skin and product away with it.
01:43I don't really feel the skin coming off.
01:46It just kind of feels very warm.
01:48It was gross, but satisfying.
01:51Afterward, my skin was feeling pretty dry.
01:54So Laura put a facial oil on my face and whipped out these two weird looking tubes.
02:00I'd heard about facial cupping before, but I'd never experienced it.
02:03So I'm gonna be honest when I say that I was pretty nervous.
02:07Is it gonna leave bruises like traditional cupping?
02:10No.
02:10So because they are constantly moving on the skin, they do not leave any marks.
02:23Feels like a face massage, but with lip kisses.
02:27Then Laura used LED devices on either side of my face to improve a number of skin issues.
02:34So she used red light, which is gonna help with inflammation,
02:38and blue light to kill acne-causing bacteria.
02:41Then came the piece de resistance.
02:44I'm French now, guys.
02:46The oxygen enzyme mask from DMK.
02:50This is the mask.
02:51This is the mamma jamma.
02:53Laura mixed the powder with some herbal water
02:57and then applied the goo all over my face, neck, and décolleté.
03:01Okay.
03:02And then told me to sit tight for 45 minutes while it dried.
03:05I feel good.
03:06I feel like I have a bunch of glue on my face.
03:08This is where things got really, really, really weird.
03:12Am I beautiful yet?
03:13The mask dried down to a thick, hard crust that made it really hard to move any part of my
03:19face, let alone speak.
03:21No pain, no way.
03:25The vagina facial is pretty weird.
03:30Oddly, that was more comfortable than this.
03:34And I had a lid in my vagina.
03:36I know what you're thinking.
03:38What the hell does this mask do?
03:41I'm no scientist, but anytime I do any new beauty treatment, I always do my due diligence.
03:47So, I asked Dr. Joshua Zeichner, a dermatologist here in New York, to weigh in.
03:52He said the mask contains albumin, which is a protein found in blood and egg whites,
03:56which helps promote the movement of blood toward the skin, thus helping oxygen get to the surface.
04:02More oxygen can do a lot for your skin, like boost hydration and brighten.
04:07The enzymes in the mask also work double duty to eat away at dead skin cells.
04:11The mask also contains antioxidants and amino acids that help protect the skin and boost collagen.
04:17So, all of this is to say that I didn't really have anything to worry about.
04:22It looked weird, but it was totally safe.
04:24After what felt like hours, but was really only 45 minutes,
04:27Laura began to remove the mask in circular motions using water.
04:31As it started to break away, I started slowly getting mobility back in my face,
04:37which was honestly a liberating experience.
04:40My skin feels really good.
04:43And I was left with brighter and super, super smooth skin.
04:48After the facial, my complexion looked much more even.
04:51That being said, did it solve all my skin issues? No.
04:55But what facial ever really does?
04:57For those of you who, A, don't live in the Tri-Stay area, and B, don't want to fork over
05:01a hundred few dollars for a facial,
05:03I have a few other products that can give you a similar effect.
05:07Now, DMK, the brand that makes the enzyme facial, actually has an at-home enzyme mask that you can use.
05:13It's the same powder. You mix it with water, toner, whatever you want, and you can put it on your
05:17face,
05:17and it does do that kind of hardening effect.
05:20If you don't want this, you can get a mask that's high in acids.
05:24So this one from Strivectin has glycolic acids and some AHAs.
05:28You put it all over your face, leave it on for like five minutes, and then wash it off.
05:32It's going to really help exfoliate your skin and get away all those little dead skin cells.
05:36If you're not into acids, which not everyone is because it can be a little bit intense for some skin
05:42types,
05:43you can use a hydrating and brightening mask like this one from Pharmacy.
05:47Now, this is the little mini version that I have, but they make a bigger version as well.
05:51It's called Honey Potion.
05:52You put it on your face, and it warms as you rub it in.
05:55So it's going to help. You can do a little bit of facial massage.
05:57You can do a little bit of lymphatic drainage, and then once you rub it off,
06:00it's going to A, help with hydration, and B, just brighten and liven up your skin.
06:04So there you have it. I hope you enjoyed this video.
