00:00So what's the first thing that you're going to be kind of looking at
00:04or first coach that you're really going to be interested in hearing from?
00:07Well, you know, like probably Mario Cristobal, obviously,
00:12coming off their national championship run.
00:14They do run a fantastic event.
00:16The ACC staff does a great job.
00:18The access down there is always great.
00:21You know, I think they're one.
00:22And I've mentioned several times over the summer that I think Louisville
00:26and SMU are interesting sleepers because of their quarterbacks,
00:29Kevin Jennings and Lincoln Keenholtz.
00:31So you would see that.
00:33I always think one of the more – the best quotes in the ACC,
00:37at least in my experience, and one of the more fun coaches to talk to is Pat Narduzzi
00:40because he is very youngstown, old school, tells you how it is,
00:45tells you exactly what's on his mind, not much of a filter either.
00:49So I've always enjoyed over the years my conversations with Pat,
00:52and we'll see how Pitt does because they're always that kind of team that,
00:55you know, trying to take that next step and work into the playoff
00:59and that kind of thing.
01:00And they've got a young quarterback as well.
01:01So, you know, there'll be a lot of interesting storylines to pop out of there,
01:05but I think most of it will revolve around Miami, Florida State,
01:08like we talked about, Belichick, what's new, can they be good?
01:11And, you know, Clemson, there's another coach.
01:13You know, Dabo and Clemson, they can't go 7-6 again
01:16because it'll get real loud there.
01:18And they have, you know, a quarterback question with Club Nick gone
01:22and a tough opener right out the go.
01:25You were talking about it at the break.
01:27I mean, LSU, right out of the go, that's a huge game for Clemson
01:30to start the season for the second straight year.
01:32Is there, I mean, Clemson, they, before Dabo, I mean,
01:38they really weren't relevant nationally on a yearly basis.
01:42He did something for them that was absolutely crazy.
01:45And now, you know, for the better part of a decade,
01:47they were right at, you know, the creme de la creme of college football,
01:51winning a pair of national championships, playing for others,
01:53being right there on the cusp, first-round draft picks,
01:56you name it, they've got it.
01:58Last couple of years just kind of martyred mediocrity,
02:01although they did make the playoff, you know, the year before.
02:04Last year, they've kind of receded back to where they were.
02:08Is there any worry for you that they would move on from Dabo
02:12or Dabo might decide to step back himself if they go 7-6 again?
02:17I've thought that for the last couple of years, you know,
02:19whether it was the rumors that he would go to Alabama
02:21or, you know, would he just step away and get sick of the criticism?
02:26Because Dabo's a very open book on the mic, as you know.
02:29Whether it's going well or going poorly,
02:31he will say exactly what he's, on his mind as well,
02:35and maybe too much at times, right?
02:37Like, it's like last year, for example, when he was saying,
02:40you know, well, I just might leave.
02:42And nobody said you're getting fired or anything.
02:45It's just a couple losses, that kind of thing.
02:47But he is a genuine coach.
02:49He's done a very nice job with that program to build them where they're at.
02:53But it's, you know, you've got to maintain that, right?
02:56That's the challenge.
02:57Once you get to national championship heights,
02:59people expect you to be in the mix every year.
03:03Now, I will say this.
03:03They did make the playoff two years ago as an ACC champion.
03:06They've dominated that conference for the better part of a decade.
03:09It was a big deal a couple years ago, for example,
03:12when Duke and Riley Leonard beat them.
03:14So, but at the same time, yes, you have to adjust to the portal.
03:18And you have to adjust to NIL and find ways to keep your roster competitive,
03:22which wasn't a problem last year, Bobby.
03:24They had a bunch of guys drafted.
03:26They just simply underperformed on the field.
03:29And that was the striking part about last year.
03:31That can't happen again.
03:32Yeah.
