Days of thunderstorms across the Upper Midwest don't seem to be letting up.
Transcript
00:00Well, storms bringing heavy rain and flooding to parts of the central plains is another story we're tracking.
00:05This is a video from AccuWeather meteorologist Tony Laubach as he was out chasing storms in Nebraska last night.
00:11And you can hear the sirens going.
00:13Yeah, he's been out there most days this week here and encountering different really stormy scenes in various forms on
00:20a nightly basis out there.
00:21Let's take a look at what's going on tonight.
00:23Here we're going a little farther north.
00:24We're going into more of the Dakotas, eastern Montana, northern parts of Wyoming, and eventually into areas like western Minnesota,
00:31northwestern Iowa in on the severe thunderstorm risk tonight with flash flooding, hail, and damaging wind concerns.
00:37And overnight, you can see the warmth and the humidity here, basically the overnight lows.
00:42When you're in the 70s or 60s, that's a sign that your dew points are high.
00:45So you've got relatively humid air out there.
00:47The axis of this is over the central part of Kansas into eastern Nebraska.
00:51So that's kind of the moisture that is most abundant to fuel some of these storms up and down I
00:55-29, Watertown, Sioux Falls.
00:57You'll be into it there.
00:58Meanwhile, a very different story tonight into the traditional Midwest, the Ohio Valley, the Great Lakes area, looking great, quiet
01:05weather, cooler, lower humidity there.
01:07And we're going to continue with that theme from Chicago to Columbus and Cleveland tomorrow.
01:11Great weather there in Indianapolis, but stormy into the upper Midwest and some heat builds into more of the plains.
01:18So Saturday's severe weather risk area, again, Wyoming, but east into the Dakotas.
01:23This is the zone where disturbance after disturbance is pushing east, all tied to that strong cold front that's cooling
01:29down the northwest,
01:30sparking some strong and severe storms over the next couple of evenings and afternoons in the northern plains.
01:35Let's see.
