01:20when Kat was contacted by someone she hadn't heard from in over a year.
01:26Maria was a friend of mine.
01:28Just out of the blue and there was no call display then.
01:30I just, the phone rang and I answered it and it was her.
01:40There was this hysterical person on the other end saying, I need your help.
01:45And what really got me was when she said, they're going to kill us.
01:55Well, she arrived on my doorstep with her son.
02:02She was a mess.
02:04She was disheveled.
02:05She was pale.
02:07And immediately she's going, I know you don't know me that well,
02:10but I always trusted you and I knew that you would help me.
02:22Maria and Kat sat down to catch up on the past 12 months,
02:26but every word that came out of Maria's mouth, Kat found horrifying.
02:33She said, my husband joined a cult.
02:37When Maria got pregnant, her husband made an appalling confession.
02:44Halfway through the pregnancy, he said, we have to leave here.

02:52She said, when I had an ultrasound and found out I was having a boy,
02:56he promised that boy to the cult as a sacrifice.
03:01It took me a while to even process what was being said to me.
03:06Maria told Kat she was scared,
03:08but didn't really believe she or her baby were in danger.
03:13All that changed at her husband's birthday party eight months earlier,
03:17just after the baby had been born.
03:20They had had a birthday party.
03:23And then she said, I remember hearing my sister screaming,
03:28and I'm realizing I'm drugged.
03:30He's drugged us.
03:33She said, there were these people in my apartment.
03:37And she said, I remember robes.
03:39I remember these black robes.
03:41And there was a fight, a physical altercation.
03:52She told me, I get up.
03:54Finally, I can walk, but I'm still really dopey.
03:58And she goes, there's this knife in my kitchen sink, covered in blood.
04:05She goes, and I don't know why, I just started washing this knife.
04:09She goes, and then I look over.
04:12And my husband's in this industrial garbage bag,
04:16and I can see his arm is over, his head hanging out of the garbage bag.
04:23His throat had been cut from ear to ear, nearly decapitated him.
04:31And she said, I made it back to the couch and passed out.
04:36When she woke up, that garbage bag was gone.
04:41He was gone.
04:44And they found him in a field across from the apartment.
04:51She said, people at the funeral home, they're all trying to say,
04:54well, he committed suicide.
04:56No, he didn't.
04:59Maria's brutal tale did not finish with her husband's death.
05:03It was just the beginning.
05:09She began to tell me that shortly after the funeral,
05:12and actually someone called during the funeral
05:14and told her, it's not over.
05:18We're owed.
05:20That baby is ours.
05:22It was promised to us, and we want him.
05:27And I said, what have you involved me in?
05:35Despite her reservations,
05:36Kat felt she had no other option
05:38but to invite Maria and her son to move in.
05:42It would turn out to be the worst decision of her life.
05:47I had no clue what was being brought or entering my life
05:54or my husband's life or, most importantly, the lives of my children.
06:01Usually people, when they get into the occult,
06:04there are attachments that will attach themselves to those individuals.
06:08And that individual spirit can move and manifest to another individual.
06:14You have to remember, there's a different level of energy that's playing here,
06:16a different mindset that's playing here,
06:18and the mindset that I want to take over,
06:21the mindset that I want to empower,
06:22the mindset that I want to control.
06:24And they'll take that opportunity
06:26and they'll cause havoc with that person.
06:32Shortly after Maria had arrived,
06:37really, some strange things had started happening.
06:41I would put the children's toys away before bed.
06:47My husband would get up in the morning
06:48and the toys would be all out of the chest.
06:56He'd say, what are you doing?
06:57Like, why do you always put them away?
06:58Someone's going to trip.
06:59And I said, but I did.
07:01I did put them away.
07:11Life had been completely normal before Maria arrived.
07:14Kat now became convinced
07:16the strange events were linked to her friend.
07:19She feared that by taking Maria in,
07:22she had also invited in the spirit of Maria's dead husband.
07:29I had hung pictures that I liked.
07:33Some of them were very old pictures, I should tell you,
07:36so I loved them.
07:36But they would be off of the wall.
07:40Some of them were smashed on the floor,
07:42like someone had just walked by
07:44and hit them and knocked them off.
07:46But it was very painful, actually,
07:48was finding my wedding picture shredded.
07:50The glass was shattered.
07:52The picture is shredded.
07:58It was the last straw.
08:01Reluctantly, Kat told Maria she had to leave.
08:03But any hopes that the weird events would stop
08:06were soon dashed in brutal fashion.
08:14The smell arrived in my house.
08:21I was in the kitchen.
08:22Between dishes and I smelled this smell of rot.

08:31And all of a sudden...
08:35And I could feel my feet being pulled apart.

10:54And it literally, the fingers were on either side of my, the tops of my ears.

12:09And I'm trying to watch TV, but I'm thinking about what happened.
12:17Kat was confronted by an enormous shadow figure.
12:28It literally filled the entire door.

12:35This thing was massive.
12:42And I'm thinking, oh, my God.
12:45Oh, my God.
12:46Because I could smell the rot.
12:48And it just charged at me.
12:53Ah!
12:58Once again, just as Kat thought she could take no more, the attack suddenly stopped.
13:08With her husband away, Kat was terrified of being in the house with just her young daughters.
13:13She asked her mother to come over.
13:20My mom was coming over.
13:22Hi!
13:23Hey!
13:23And so I had this big floral picture I had put up.
13:29And I'm standing there talking to my mom.
13:30And it just flies off of the wall and smashes.
13:35And all of a sudden, something's got me.
13:39Ah!
13:40Ah!
13:41Literally grabbed me and spun and then banged up on the wall.
13:46And my feet come up off the floor.
13:49And the nail.
13:53Where the picture is hung, I'm slammed against the wall.
13:56And it's pulling me down.
13:58And the nail is gouting my back.
14:01And my mom is screaming, what's happening?
14:04What's happening?
14:05What's going on?
14:11And I said, it's going to kill me.
14:16I was just sobbing.
14:17I just said, it's going to kill me.
14:21You have to go.
14:22Take the girls.
14:23I said, just go.

14:25It doesn't want you.
14:27It wants me.
14:34And I called my husband at work and I said, I am done.
14:36I'm done.

14:38I can't stay here.
14:40I can't live here anymore.
14:41I can't do this.
14:44I packed up my kids as much as I could grab in a quick amount of time and myself.
14:54And I left.
14:56I went to my mom's.
15:04I did call Maria's dad and I said, I need to talk to her.
15:09There's more to this.

15:11And her dad goes, you know, this is it.
15:15I mean, after today, don't come back.
15:18If you come back, what's been happening to you will get worse.
15:22When that individual finds out the person it came from, where the initial entry point came
15:29in their lives, when they confront that person, they're technically confronting the entity
15:33at the same time because that attachment is feeding off them.
15:37I don't even recognize the face on this girl and she's wringing your hands.
15:45They said, I'll always love you, but I can't ever see you again.
15:48They said, please.
15:51Before he kills one of my kids, please.
15:55This is your problem.
15:56I said, you know, you should have never brought this to my home, to me.
16:15And I'm thinking, maybe it was just a warning to me.

16:21It was over for Kat.
16:23After seeing Maria that final time, the attack stopped.

17:36After struggling with some health issues, Dustin Terry had been looking for a new and cheaper apartment for him and

17:45What attracted me to the building was the location.
17:48It was listed and it was fairly cheap in the paper.
17:58The building looked like your older classic brick building with the old iron gate that still had the old wood
18:08that used to be the outside of the siding.
18:11You know, it's kind of like stepping back in history almost.
18:16I did not take my son with me to see the place at all.
18:19He actually just kind of got a surprise one day.
18:24He thought it was cool because it was so close to grandma, my mom.
18:29It's less than a five-minute walk for him in a nice area.
18:34I was hoping in this new place for a fresh start, basically.
18:45I was downstairs doing a little bit of laundry.
18:49The feeling I felt was just like you were being watched.
19:00I just blew it off as no big thing.
19:22I know there's something there as to what I don't know.
19:47Dustin Terry had just moved into his new apartment when he started feeling like he was not alone.

20:24I was folding my clothes and it sounded like someone opened my door and started walking into my house.
20:47When I looked and seen no one there, it was mainly confused.

20:59I didn't want to bring that to his attention at that young of an age.
21:06Dustin had started to feel increasingly paranoid in his home.
21:10He didn't want to tell his son Austin about his experiences for fear of frightening him.
21:14But the unwanted visitor left him with no choice.
21:21I was at home.
21:23We were sitting down in the living room and one can out of the middle fell off.
21:47And I'm like, okay, it's nothing.
21:49Nothing at all.
21:50I pick it up, put it back up there, start watching TV.
21:53Within 15 minutes again, the same can that I just picked off the floor falls down again.
22:07I was still confused.
22:09I still didn't want to admit it because I was still along the lines of these are older apartments.
22:16I was like, no, it's got to be something that's very explainable.
22:20It just has to be.
22:22When spirits do things like pushing cans off the shelf repeatedly, the same thing,
22:27or opening a door, the same thing,
22:28it's their sense of letting the physical people know I'm still here, I still exist,
22:33and that their process is I still can do these things.
22:41Dustin put the events out of his mind and tried to get on with his life.
22:45His girlfriend of six months started staying over at his apartment.
22:51My girlfriend would come over, or usually once a weekend.
22:57I was watching TV.
22:59She said that someone just walked in and someone just touched me on my back.

23:07Somebody grabbed me.
23:09There's nothing in there.
23:10Go look in the wardrobe.
23:14So now it's starting to get physical,
23:17and now I know I have a major problem on my hands.
23:22Worried about a possible intruder,
23:25Dustin started searching the rest of the apartment.
23:44She said it was just kind of eerie, odd.
23:46She just felt a presence, like someone was standing behind her,
23:50and she didn't seem too comfortable at that point in time.
24:05I know there's something there.
24:08As to what, I don't know.
24:20Dustin decided the strange incidents were putting his son and his girlfriend at risk,
24:25and he needed help.
24:27I needed to look for someone to come in and do something,
24:32so I called in a priest from the Catholic Church in St. Joe.
24:38Like, well, I think that a house of blessing will help you,
24:42and I think we should start one.
24:44So I said, okay.
24:45So without him knowing about it right away,
24:47I grabbed my cell phone and turned on voice record,
24:51and I put it in my back pocket just to see.
24:58He starts with a couple of prayers,
25:00and he's reading from the scriptures as he walks through,
25:02and he does the holy water routine in every room.
25:07We get back towards the back area,
25:10and I noticed when he got back there,
25:12he was a little bit hesitant.
25:17I kind of monitored when they did leave
25:22that they were still pretty much looking around quite a bit.
25:25It wasn't like I had his 100% attention.
25:28It's like something else had his attention on the side.
25:40Dustin was not convinced the blessing had worked.
25:45After the priest had left,
25:47I decided to take the audio
25:50and transfer it over to my laptop.
25:52The sanctuary is the door of the religious ministry.
26:14Dustin, Terry, and his young son, Austin,
26:17had moved into a new apartment,
26:18but so far, it had not been a happy home.
26:21Only two months ago.
26:22Really, I did.
26:27Dustin felt that someone or something
26:30was sharing their space,
26:32and he had called in a priest to do a blessing.
26:36After the priest had left,
26:38I decided to take the audio
26:40and transfer it over to my laptop.
26:47When the priest was talking,
26:49it was pretty quiet.
26:51You didn't hear anything,
26:51but whenever the priest would seem
26:54to want to start talking from the scriptures
26:57or do any kind of a blessing,
27:00when he would stop,
27:01there's this very specific...
27:06And when he starts, it stops.
27:09And the minute he stops,
27:11it starts back up again.

27:22that doesn't want him here.

27:29After I heard the recording,
27:31you know, I was in a predicament
27:34as do I stay or go.
27:36I'm very tired of not feeling comfortable,
27:40tired of not knowing if my kid's going to be all right
27:43in the middle of the night.
27:44or if he has seen more
27:47and he's just not telling me
27:49because I don't think
27:50that's a very good environment
27:51for a 12-year-old.
27:56It didn't take long
27:57for Dustin's doubts about the blessing
27:59to be proved correct.
28:03One day, me and my son
28:04were coming up out of the basement
28:06from the laundry room.
28:11You hear a whisper again.
28:13You know, you can hear some footsteps.
28:16And we made it to the stop step
28:18and we stepped onto the carpeting
28:21and there was clearly
28:23coming up.
28:40I didn't want to tell him anything.
28:42I just said, let's go.
28:48When you can't see something
28:50and you can hear the noise
28:51obviously going on,
28:52it's very, one of the most scariest things
28:55I think I've ever actually really been through.
29:02After the footsteps
29:03and everything going on,
29:06I knew I needed to look
29:08for someone to come in
29:10and do something.
29:11So I reached out to Laurie
29:13to the Paranormal Society.
29:15I could tell in his voice
29:16that he was scared
29:16and it was a very disturbing experience
29:19that he had been having.
29:20But the more people that I talked to
29:22and found out
29:23that I'm not the only one
29:24that was having these experiences.
29:28Laurie and her team
29:29started an investigation
29:30into the apartment building
29:32and spoke with Dustin's neighbors.
29:35A lot of these older buildings
29:38like the one Dustin lives in
29:39were motels
29:41and they were converted
29:42into nowadays apartments.
29:44So whatever happened
29:45in the motels
29:46you're going to get
29:48what is called
29:48residual entities
29:52that are still there.
29:53You're going to get residual feelings,
29:55emotions in the building
29:57and it's like glue to a wall.
29:59A lot of people who cross over
30:00are afraid to cross over
30:02and they'll stay here.
30:03They'll stay with that opportunity
30:04in order to fulfill that sensation
30:06that they're still alive somehow.
30:08I had heard other stories
30:10from other people in the building.
30:14I figured back in the 1930s and 40s
30:18somebody had opened a portal
30:22in there via a Ouija board
30:25and brought this thing through it
30:28and they did not close off
30:30the Ouija board
30:31and now these poor people
30:33that are in Dustin's building
30:34not only him
30:35have to deal with this.
30:38When I first moved in
30:39and had these suspicions
30:40I didn't think it'd get this bad
30:42but as it progressed
30:43it got worse and worse.

30:45are tied to the property
30:46it's really hard to get rid of.
30:49My best suggestion to Dustin
30:51was move when it was
30:53financially possible
30:54for him to do so
30:55because it'll just stay
30:57with the property.

31:06It was well after midnight.
31:09I decided to go to bed early.
31:12My girlfriend's going to stay up
31:13and she gets the weird feeling
31:16of someone standing over you
31:19being watched.
31:24She kind of glances over
31:26a little bit
31:27and she says standing
31:29behind the curtains
31:30is
31:35a black mass
31:36that's standing there.
31:40and she looks down
31:41and she sees
31:44dress shoes.
31:46That was about the last time
31:48she stayed the night.
31:51That manipulation of energy
31:53is all fear based
31:55and the more fear
31:55that that entity can create
31:57the better it is
31:58the chances of it surviving.

37:49they're coming

37:49that spirit
37:50will manifest
37:51itself into

37:53and sooner or later
37:55that entity

37:57ostracizing
37:57against the mother
37:58and the father.

39:06almost a daily
39:07occurrence.

39:12that it had
39:13something to do
