00:00Jai Gurudev, everyone.
00:04Jai Gurudev, everyone.
00:17Jai Gurudev, everyone.
00:22Does anyone of you have questions?
00:30Jai Gurudev, everyone.
00:37Nobody has any questions?
00:39Then I leave.
00:43Yes, Mataji.
01:01I cannot understand why the parents of Shirdi Sai Baba
01:04left their baby boy in the wood
01:06so they knew
01:08that is the incarnation of Shiva.
01:14Okay.
01:17You see,
01:22between stories
01:23and reality
01:27there is a big difference.
01:31Firstly, let's look at it
01:33from a
01:37cultural point of view.
01:39You see,
01:39in the West you think
01:41in a certain way.
01:43But in the East,
01:46especially in India,
01:48the dharma
01:49of a wife
01:51is not toward the children.
01:53is toward the
01:56husband.
01:57So, when the husband,
01:59according to the story,
02:02decide
02:05to take sannyas,
02:08to let go of everything,
02:11and went,
02:12he was going to the Himalayas.
02:14to take sannyas.
02:18So, the wife said,
02:20my duty is to be with you.
02:22No matter what,
02:24my duty is
02:26towards you.
02:28So,
02:30she followed her husband.
02:33Does she know the child?
02:35No.
02:39For her,
02:40what she knows,
02:42is that,
02:42firstly, here you are looking,
02:45first we have to divert
02:47your mind
02:48from a western way of looking,
02:50from an eastern way of looking,
02:52to be able to understand that.
02:54Because you see,
02:55in the West,
02:56everybody appeared to be perfect,
03:00appeared to be
03:02very loyal,
03:05everything is a show.
03:10But in the East,
03:11no.
03:12They focus on the
03:13dharmic point.
03:16For her,
03:16her dharma,
03:17like I said earlier,
03:18was to follow
03:19her husband.
03:21She don't know anything
03:22about the child.
03:23even,
03:24if she had
03:25that
03:27knowledge
03:28that
03:28this is
03:32Shiva Himself incarnate.
03:35Another story said that
03:37they didn't have any children
03:39and then they prayed
03:40and Lord Shiva came
03:41and tested the wife
03:43and blessed her
03:44finally
03:44and said,
03:45I will Myself be born
03:49inside of you.
03:54So,
03:55from a cultural point of view,
03:57from following the
03:58dharmic point of view,
03:59she is right
04:00what she is doing.
04:02She is following her husband.
04:04An obstruction
04:05will be
04:07if she
04:08let go
04:09of her dharma
04:11and
04:11look after her child.
04:13So, then the point will be,
04:14why don't take the child's ways?
04:16That is
04:17western point of view.
04:19No?
04:21It became
04:22a hindrance
04:23because
04:25who will take care of the child?
04:27She can't even take care of herself.
04:30How would she take care of somebody else?
04:33It makes it difficult.
04:37So,
04:38from her point of view
04:39it is better
04:40to leave the child
04:42where somebody else
04:43can
04:45look after
04:47and
04:47brought the child
04:48in a proper way.
04:50and then there is
04:51the point of view
04:52of
04:53faith.
04:55No?
04:57Faith is there.
04:59You see,
04:59the people who have faith in God,
05:01they know
05:02that God will take care of everything.
05:05It is not in their hand.
05:07It is in
05:09His hand.
05:10So,
05:11with such strong faith
05:13they let go of the child also.
05:16It is not because
05:17the mother wanted to let go of the child.
05:20This is not like that.
05:23You see.
05:24She was in a position where
05:27she could not really decide.
05:29decide.
05:32And, of course,
05:34being a lawful,
05:35how say,
05:37lawful wife,
05:39she followed
05:40her dharma
05:41towards her husband.
05:44This is
05:46the fact of
05:48the Indian culture,
05:50the fact of Sanatan dharma.
05:53you know.
05:54You know.
05:54And, of course,
05:55you see,
05:56when you look at it
05:56from a Western point of view,
05:58it is totally wrong.
06:01Okay.
06:01Now we come to the point of
06:04the second point
06:06of the
06:07story point.
06:13Folkloric
06:13that can capture your mind.
06:16Because, you see,
06:18as long as something is direct,
06:20you don't like it.
06:23You like
06:24to have a
06:26story behind.
06:28You like to have
06:29a
06:30embellishment
06:31of something.
06:33But,
06:33story and the truth
06:34go hand in hand together.
06:36They are not separate
06:37from each other.
06:38When somebody tells you a story,
06:40actually,
06:41they are telling you the truth
06:42but in a disguised way.
06:46in a village
06:48there were two
06:50beautiful
06:52mataji.
06:53Very sexy.
06:56To the beauty
06:58whoever is seeing.
07:00One was called
07:01story
07:02and then one was called
07:04truth.
07:06They both stayed in one hut
07:08together.
07:09together.
07:13And, of course,
07:14the villagers were wondering,
07:16why these two
07:17wonderful
07:17beauties
07:19are staying together?
07:24So, one finding,
07:26a sadhu was passing by
07:27and the sadhu
07:30said,
07:30please,
07:32please,
07:33I am here,
07:34serve
07:35me.
07:36So,
07:37they both
07:37served the sadhu
07:39with great
07:40love and dedication.
07:50and the sadhu
07:52and the sadhu
07:52was leaving,
07:53said,
07:54I have to bless them.
07:56I have to give them something,
07:58you know,
07:58a boon, a blessing,
07:59or something like that.
08:00You know,
08:00this is the way.
08:01But the sadhu does.
08:05What he did?
08:07He took out from his back
08:08a mirror.
08:11and give it
08:13to both of them.
08:21So, let's name the
08:23the two
08:24in the Indian name.
08:29Satcha,
08:30Satch,
08:32and the other one
08:33Kahani.
08:35Satch means truth,
08:38and Kahani means story.
08:42So, Satch
08:42and Kahani,
08:45both of them
08:48take the mirror,
08:49start looking
08:51at each one of them,
08:52you know,
08:53ah,
08:54Satch said,
08:55I am the most beautiful.
08:58Kahani said,
08:59ah, look at me,
09:00I am the most beautiful.
09:02Just like
09:03you Mataji's do.
09:06ah,
09:06less to the Prabhu,
09:07because they know
09:08probably they are beautiful.
09:11So,
09:15but I met one Prabhu.
09:16Every time
09:17he was passing by
09:18in front of the mirror,
09:19he was always...
09:26So,
09:26Satch
09:27and Kahani
09:29both said,
09:30okay, fine,
09:31let's prove it now,
09:32let's find out
09:33which one
09:34is the most beautiful.
09:37So, first
09:39Satch
09:39went out of the hut.
09:42She walked.
09:43As she was walking,
09:46the people who were working
09:48in the field,
09:51when they saw her,
09:53they ran away to the house.
09:58and as she walked a little bit more further,
10:03they went hiding inside the house.
10:07So, she walked a few steps more.
10:13She was shocked, but no one came to see her.
10:19What did she do?
10:20She removed her clothes.
10:23Naked,
10:24she stand there.
10:26Everybody closed their gate.
10:36So,
10:39what is next?
10:41She went back to the hut
10:43with her face down.
10:52Kahani said,
10:53what's wrong with you?
10:57She didn't say anything.
10:59She said,
10:59that is my turn now.
11:01So, Kahani dressed up
11:03with a very mini skirt.
11:09She put lots of jewelry on her,
11:13threw her hair out,
11:17put a nice sindur on,
11:20put a nice tilak,
11:23just like you all dressed nicely.
11:26And there she put the dread,
11:30you see,
11:31bread of the hair,
11:32and she went out.
11:38Look at all the men.
11:40They are in dream.
11:44Kahani went,
11:45the moment she went out,
11:48all of them came out.
11:51Ahhhh!
11:53Big mouth.
11:56Open.
12:00They all went around her.
12:05So,
12:08she went back again
12:09into her hut.
12:12And as she went into the hut,
12:17she,
12:20such said,
12:24I accept defeat.
12:27I said, no, no, no.
12:30She put her hand on her shoulder
12:32and said,
12:33no, you can't accept defeat.
12:39Because
12:43the story,
12:45I mean, Kahani
12:47and truth
12:48go together.
12:53You see,
12:55people like stories.
12:58this is an Indian mindset,
13:01Eastern mindset.
13:03You know.
13:06In the East,
13:08we like to
13:11make everything
13:12appear
13:14more
13:15what it is.
13:17We like to stretch
13:19everything.
13:22You know.
13:26in so many
13:28life
13:28of so many saints,
13:32what we see?
13:33We hear only the stories
13:34of their miracles.
13:36Maybe somebody went there
13:37with a fever.
13:40Oh, saints, help me.
13:43Man.
13:44Oh, I was dying
13:47and I was saved.
13:53I was dying.
13:54This is stories.
13:56Nobody likes
13:57naked truth.
13:59Truth is naked.
14:01Who likes that?
14:04Hmm?
14:04Nobody likes.
14:06Nobody likes to hear
14:08the reality
14:10of how things are.
14:12the stories.
14:15But when it is disguised
14:17with
14:18a story
14:23that captivates your mind.
14:27Which is not wrong.
14:30Because at that moment
14:32your mind becomes
14:33a creative mind.
14:36You know,
14:37that right
14:37lobe of your mind
14:39itself,
14:39the right lobe of your brain
14:41which is always
14:42dormant.
14:43That which is creative
14:45inside of you.
14:47Which normally
14:47you don't like to look at it
14:49because everything is
14:49just pressing button
14:51nowadays.
14:52You don't press one button,
14:53the computer, AI
14:54do everything for you.
14:58What is happening to you?
15:00Your creative mind
15:01is finished.
15:05Can you handle the truth?
15:07No, you can't.
15:10Do you want to know the truth?
15:12No, you don't want
15:12to know the truth.
15:14The truth
15:15is too painful to know.
15:20That's why you like
15:21to hear stories.
15:22You like to read stories.
15:24You like to tell stories.
15:29That's what you remember.
15:31You don't remember
15:32anything else.
15:33The philosophy
15:34which the Swamis
15:36will be teaching you.
15:37Would you remember?
15:38No.
15:40I was in the
15:41pilgrimage.
15:43I asked in the bus
15:45few questions.
15:48These people have read
15:49Bhagavad Gita.
15:50I asked them some question
15:52from Bhagavad Gita.
15:52These people,
15:53these devotees,
15:54they have read it
15:56not one time,
15:57several times.
15:58I asked them a few questions.
16:02They could not answer.
16:08Because it is philosophy.
16:11But the same thing
16:12if you tell them,
16:14tell the story of Mahabharata,
16:16for example,
16:19that they can tell.
16:22the story of Mahabharata.
16:23Because it captivates
16:24your mind.
16:28So between
16:30reality
16:31and
16:32the story that you read
16:34and hear,
16:35there is certain truth in it.
16:37But you have to dig
16:39into that
16:40to find it.
16:42You can't just read it
16:43and presume
16:44it is like that.
16:46Because I don't think
16:47any mother would just
16:48let go of their child
16:49like this.
16:52Even if it is the dharma
16:53of the wife.
16:56For sure,
16:57she has provide
16:58for the child.
17:00For sure,
17:01she has the reason.
17:03But do we want
17:04to know the reason?
17:05No, we don't want
17:06to know the reason.
17:07Because
17:08we have made up our mind
17:10that
17:11it is like that.
17:13Somebody come to you
17:14and tell you something
17:18negative.
17:20You will not even think
17:22twice
17:22what is behind that.
17:24You will already
17:25jump into
17:27conclusion.
17:29That this is wrong.
17:31Because you think
17:32you are right.
17:37You are so self-conscious.
17:39self-conscious.
17:40You know?
17:42That show clearly
17:44you don't even know
17:45who you are.
17:47Because if you will know
17:48who you are,
17:49nobody can shake you.
17:51Nobody can move you.
17:54But because of that
17:55self-conscious,
17:56your ego is so
17:58without any measure
18:01that shakes you.
18:04That bothers you.
18:06That makes you weak.
18:08weak.
18:11Where is your strength?
18:15Where is your
18:16that energy
18:18inside of you?
18:19All depart from you
18:21because you have heard
18:24the story
18:25from a different angle.
18:28All the happiness
18:30you have had
18:35that
18:36all can be forgotten
18:36in one second.
18:41All the joy,
18:43joyful moment
18:45can be forgotten
18:46only by one
18:47single mistake.
18:51like
18:51Einstein,
18:52once he was teaching,
18:54he was writing
18:54on the
18:57boat
18:59the calculation of nine,
19:01one times nine, nine,
19:03two times nine, eighteen,
19:04three times nine, twenty-four.
19:07Yes?
19:11So, he carried on
19:13until
19:17the last,
19:18ten times nine,
19:19ninety.
19:22So,
19:23then the people,
19:24the children
19:25started laughing.
19:30And then he asked,
19:32why are you laughing?
19:33He said,
19:34ah, you made a mistake.
19:40He said, no,
19:41no,
19:41I didn't make a mistake.
19:43I purposely made it.
19:47I consciously made it.
19:51But you people
19:53didn't focus on
19:54the nine,
19:55the other
19:56positive things
19:57that were there.
19:58But you hang on
19:59that one
20:00mistake
20:01that I made.
20:02And this is how
20:03people are,
20:04you see.
20:06If they don't
20:07understand something,
20:09either they classify it
20:11as a mistake,
20:12or they classify it
20:14as negative,
20:15or those
20:17whose mind
20:17is more elevated,
20:19they see behind
20:20what it is.
20:26So, you have to be
20:29able to
20:30desiccate that
20:33between story
20:34and reality.
20:37And what reality is?
20:39reality is
20:40naked truth,
20:41which you can't handle.
20:44That's why
20:44it is embellished
20:45in stories.
20:47So that it makes it
20:48easy for you
20:49to grasp it.
21:00Any more questions?
21:04then give
21:05the mic
21:06the mic
21:07sort of.
21:07Jay Gurudev,
21:10how can I
21:27handle
21:27the love and compassion
21:29to somebody
21:30who came to destroy
21:31my home?
21:33And should I do something
21:35about it?
21:36Well, what can you do?
21:39Look,
21:40I understand your question
21:42and I understand
21:43where it comes from.
21:47But right now
21:48we have to see,
21:50you know,
21:51we are all
21:53one
21:54family.
21:57sometimes
21:58in a family
21:58there is
21:59disagreement.
22:01Is it
22:02your family,
22:03in your family
22:04everything is perfect
22:05or you have
22:06disagreement?
22:07In every family
22:08there is disagreement.
22:12We can react
22:13to this disagreement
22:14and become negative
22:17or
22:18we can also
22:19hold upon
22:21what spirituality
22:23teaches,
22:24you know.
22:25We hold upon
22:26that love
22:27inside of ourselves.
22:32I don't say
22:33that
22:34it is right
22:35that
22:37somebody else
22:38come and
22:41invade your house
22:45you can't,
22:47you don't do anything.
22:49but you have also
22:50to see,
22:50you know,
22:52that what can
22:52you do?
22:55You can do
22:56something
22:57in a negative way,
23:00act
23:00very
23:04irresponsible
23:06which at the end
23:08you yourself would not
23:09be happy
23:10because whatever
23:11you act
23:12with
23:16is
23:16an attitude
23:17of
23:19negativeness
23:21nothing positive
23:22can come out of that.
23:27So, what can you do
23:28in that moment is just
23:30pray.
23:32That is one thing
23:33that you can do.
23:34If you trust
23:35in the power of prayer
23:36like I was saying yesterday,
23:38pray.
23:41bring more
23:42positive
23:44energy
23:44because right now
23:46you see,
23:47let's say, for example,
23:48forget about right now.
23:49So, if something like that
23:50happens into
23:51your family,
23:52it happens into
23:53your,
23:54how say,
23:55place,
23:56what is the attitude
23:57of the mind of people?
23:58Negative.
24:00Everybody becomes negative.
24:02The media will throw things out
24:05which is probably
24:06true
24:06or not true.
24:09But what is your
24:12point?
24:13To become negative
24:14and contribute to the,
24:15how say,
24:16gross
24:17negative
24:19energy
24:20and make things worse?
24:21Oh,
24:22stay positive
24:22and build upon that positivity
24:24that
24:25things can change.
24:29You know,
24:30as much as darkness
24:32is everywhere,
24:34a small light
24:35makes a big difference.
24:41You can
24:42brighten
24:43your little light,
24:45make it more stronger
24:48by being positive.
24:51Because being negative
24:52will not change anything.
24:55Being positive,
24:56maybe you will say,
24:57yes,
24:57it is also not changing anything.
25:00because you want something to happen
25:02like this.
25:04No.
25:05Being positive
25:06takes its time.
25:08But it bears
25:10the fruit of it.
25:14There was a mother
25:16walking
25:18with his child.
25:22Very cultured
25:23mother was walking
25:25with his child.
25:28as they were walking,
25:30a mad woman
25:31comes
25:31and starts
25:32abusing
25:34the mother
25:35in front of the child.
25:37The child,
25:38shocked,
25:39looked at the mother
25:41and said,
25:43he was in a shocked state,
25:45you know,
25:46why the mother is not reacting?
25:50So,
25:50the mad woman
25:51seeing that the mother is not reacting
25:53became even more angry.
25:59They start hurting
26:02abuses
26:03towards her husband,
26:05also the child
26:06itself.
26:07But the mother stayed calm.
26:12Didn't react.
26:14After sometimes
26:15the mad woman
26:19became tired
26:22and
26:22went away.
26:26so then the son
26:27asked the mother,
26:27mother,
26:29that woman
26:30had been throwing
26:31all this abuse
26:32on you,
26:33why did you keep calm?
26:36The mother didn't answer
26:37to the child.
26:39So they went home,
26:40as they reached home
26:44the mother went
26:45into
26:47the washing
26:49room,
26:51took some dirty clothes,
26:55which is smelling,
26:59bring it to the child
27:00and said,
27:01here,
27:02take this,
27:03wear it.
27:07So the child
27:08said, no,
27:09I will not wear that.
27:10it is smelly,
27:13and it is dirty.
27:16The mother said, no,
27:17wear it.
27:19She said, no,
27:20I can't wear it.
27:22It is filthy.
27:27then the mother sat down
27:29and told the child,
27:31exactly.
27:33The same way
27:34that you don't
27:36take the dirt
27:39from somebody else.
27:41You don't want to wear
27:42the dirty clothes
27:44because
27:45you are clean,
27:48so you are clean,
27:49you will not wear
27:50smelly clothes.
27:53So the same way,
27:56you should not let
27:58anyone disturb
27:59the peace of your mind.
28:01The clarity of your mind
28:03by impusing
28:05their
28:07negativity upon you.
28:12Because if you take it,
28:15then you are participating
28:18into
28:20this
28:21collective
28:23negativity.
28:25You know?
28:26Because you do participate
28:28into that.
28:28By becoming negative,
28:29you feed that collective energy
28:31which is negative,
28:33dark.
28:36But if you are positive,
28:38you don't feed
28:39that negative energy.
28:41And you stay positive,
28:43you know?
28:45I don't say
28:46it is an easy thing.
28:52I don't say
28:53that you should not react,
28:54but react
28:56in a right way,
28:58not in a destructive way.
29:02You can react
29:03by helping also.
29:07You can react
29:08by keeping
29:09your
29:11pose energy,
29:12you know,
29:13keep yourself
29:14calm.
29:17Because keeping
29:18yourself calm
29:19is also a reaction.
29:21Because people think that
29:22somebody which is
29:23calm,
29:24they are not reacting,
29:25it is bad.
29:27No.
29:28To keep yourself posed,
29:29keep yourself calm,
29:31keep yourself into the
29:33positive energy
29:34itself,
29:36it takes much more effort
29:38than being negative.
29:39Because being negative
29:40is very easy.
29:41To hate is very easy.
29:43To love,
29:44it takes an effort.
29:48And that way
29:51you prove to yourself
29:54that you are a human being.
29:57otherwise, no,
29:58you can't consider yourself
30:00as a human being.
30:02You consider yourself
30:03as an animal,
30:04even worse than an animal.
30:09So,
30:11choice is yours.
30:13Jai Gurudev.
