00:00.
00:09So, you all pretend to be a master, no?
00:14No.
00:19.
00:21Pressure?
00:22.
00:23Can you?
00:26Yes, I can.
00:32Guruji, often we see that to develop this Brahminical type of culture,
00:39it's really needed, which is based on humility, cleanse, truthfulness, pride-less.
00:47But at the same time, as soon as we started to rise up with Brahminic culture,
00:53and the proud also comes together.
00:55So, to kill this in Kaliug is almost impossible.
01:00So how to develop a Brahminical culture, which is based on the Vedic culture, without rising ego, pride?
01:10You see, this is beautiful what you say.
01:12Very often, when people grow in spirituality, especially when they have knowledge,
01:17because Brahminical culture means the one who has knowledge of creation,
01:24knowledge of the Self, knowledge of everything, of the one Himself.
01:30But what comes with this such knowledge also is, sadly, is the spiritual pride.
01:37because they become very proudful of our knowledge of what we read about.
01:43But yet, reading about without experiencing the Divine is useless completely.
01:49You know? So, when Bhagavan Krishna talked about Brahmin,
01:52He's talking about someone who has experienced the Divinity.
01:57You know? And automatically when you experience the Divine,
02:00what is called itself is humility.
02:03In Chapter 5, Verse 11 of Guva Gita,
02:07Bhagavan Krishna said that the yogi, you know,
02:12which is free from attachment, you know,
02:18perform all activity, the body, mind, intellect and senses.
02:24For what goals? For purification of the Self.
02:31So, when Bhagavan here utilised the yogi, you know,
02:37he used the word yogi, he is referring for the bhakta, the devotees.
02:45The devotees who have, what you can call yourself a devotee,
02:50those who have that surrender, that complete awareness, you know,
02:56that, yes, I'm in constant observance.
03:00What am I observing?
03:04Observing that, yes, I am not this body, I am not the mind, I am not that intellect, I am
03:10not the senses.
03:12But very often we refer to ourselves as an observer.
03:18Observer is not what the Upanishads talk about, the Self, the Atma.
03:24Observer is not that.
03:26When you observe, there is someone else which is observing the observer.
03:32Because you are fully aware of the One which is observing everything, isn't it?
03:39So, then there is another One beyond that observing which is observing the whole outside.
03:46So, the observer is not, very often we hear that you are the observer of things, no?
03:52Observer is not who you are.
03:56You are that Atma, that fullness, that wholeness, that who you are.
04:02And that can't be observed, that can be only experienced.
04:07As long as you don't experience that, you are still observing.
04:12So, Bhagavan comes and reminds, for what does such yogi doing everything, you know?
04:18When you call yourself a bhakta, when you call yourself a brahmana, you know,
04:22because bhakta's are brahmana, because brahmanas, like I said,
04:25they have that knowledge, not just knowledge but experience.
04:30So, when Bhagavan is talking about being the observer,
04:36you know, he's also referring that,
04:41why are you acting?
04:44He's putting a clear note here.
04:47But all the action of a bhakta is not to attach,
04:55because whatever we do through action we attach, no?
05:00So, it's not through action in itself,
05:03it is for purification of the Self.
05:09Purification of the Self, here the Self doesn't mean the Atma.
05:13He's talking about the Self, which is the ego,
05:18which is in between, you know?
05:22So, purification of that ego completely,
05:25that's what will really make one into that splendor of the brahmana.
05:32Otherwise, we can say, yes, brahmana, brahmana, brahmana.
05:36I remember I had a talk with some of the family members which is brahmana,
05:43also, and because due to their education,
05:50they think that they are superior than anybody else, you know?
05:52But nowadays, he's not like that.
05:53Even Bhagavan Krishna, when he spoke about it in the Gita,
05:56he's not talking about that.
05:57He clearly gave a certain category of people to do their work,
06:02etiquette, you know?
06:04Due to their mindset, due to their structure,
06:07their physique and everything, you know?
06:08And so, you have Kshatriya, Baishya and so on.
06:12The caste system, it was not given through separation,
06:16but it was given for the society to be built upon
06:19a certain structure that holds that society itself.
06:24That's why he's talking about that, you know?
06:26But along the side what has happened is that the pride takes over.
06:32One says, yes, the Kshatriya would say, I am better because I'm fighting and protecting.
06:38The brahmana says, I am better because I know all the knowledge about the atma.
06:44But knowing the knowledge about the atma is like some fools just talking about that, you know?
06:51Experience nothing there.
06:52That's why satsang is very important, you know?
06:56What the Guru reveals to you, the word of the Guru, you know,
07:01is sometimes challenging to the mind.
07:05But what does that do?
07:07It shakes the mind so that the mind doesn't hold upon that whole distance of what you have always created
07:18inside, you know?
07:19Otherwise, changing will not happen.
07:21You will still hold upon your worry, your fear.
07:25So, you will not advance.
07:29Meanwhile, when you think that, yes, now it's time for me to awake, time has passed.
07:34Death is knocking at your door.
07:36Then it's finished.
07:38And that's the majority of the people, you see.
07:40It's like that.
07:41They live in a delusion, whether it is spiritual people or whether it is non-spiritual people.
07:48There is a certain kind of delusion that one has created out of fear.
07:53And they hold upon that.
07:55When we look at the Gita itself of Bhagavan Krishna has taught to Arjuna,
08:00he sees that transformation, you know,
08:06that change which Arjuna goes through, that metamorphose which Arjuna goes through, you know?
08:11It's not only the mind that changes, the whole being changes.
08:18And that's what we talk about Brahman.
08:22That's what we have discussed here.
08:23That transformation, that change in itself, you know?
08:28Then the transformation is Brahman, you know?
08:31Brahman is transformed again into that originality.
08:35Because Brahma, Brahman comes from the word Brahma.
08:40Brahma is the god of creation, you know?
08:44So, according to the Shastras, we see that Brahmaji was given the task of creating.
08:53So, meaning, he's the first one.
08:57So, we come back to that originality of who we are, when we call ourselves a Brahman.
09:06So, this is not just by wearing the thread that you become a Brahman, you know?
09:11You know, very often gurus say, yes, you know, they are not Brahman, these people, they are.
09:17He said, okay.
09:18There were such gurus that they, you know, there were one guru called Govinda,
09:28Govinda Das, Raji Govinda Das, actually.
09:33Once, in the eighth, nineteenth century, he had a disciple which was a Muslim.
09:42So, there was a Brahman caste, people were around, you know, and he was a great scholar.
09:50And, of course, they brought their children for him to learn under him.
10:00He refused.
10:01He looked at them, they were not interested, because they think,
10:05ah, yeah, we are, we know all these things by ourselves, you know?
10:08We don't, we have heard everything, we know it, you know?
10:15So, he refused to take them.
10:18But he took, he took one boy, once he was walking, he saw one boy, Sadathe, it was his thing.
10:27He saw him and he said, you come with me.
10:32And dragged him, brought him to the father of the boy and said, I'm taking your son.
10:37And for that, like that, for twenty years he studied under Raji Govinda.
10:47And he became a great father and he became a great father.
10:51He had the grace of the Divine Mother.
10:57So, you see, that transformation, while I was talking about Brahman, you know?
11:03There was one incident that all the Brahman, you know, when the boy was still small,
11:08they all, they all, one Brahman boy said to, to Sadathe, you know, they were,
11:17because they are different caste, different religion, they were saying some, ah, say,
11:23just to annoy him, push him around.
11:26So, of course he rebuked back and then he also pushed back that boy and he fell down and burnt
11:31his leg.
11:32And, of course, they made a big puha about this and went to the Guru and complained,
11:36said, look, you have taken this person and then look how he became, you know?
11:41He's not even a Brahman.
11:42Do you know where the Guru did?
11:43He took one, ah, what is it, holy bread which was there in the temple,
11:52came out, initiated him, giving him that type of,
11:56but then he said to him, listen,
11:58that doesn't mean that you have become a Brahman just like that.
12:01You know, like wearing the thread he is going to become a Brahman.
12:04That Kabir said, you know,
12:06if just like wearing a thread you become a Brahman, then the,
12:11the, the, the, the, the, the rope,
12:15the, the, how see, the, the wood which holds the rope for the well,
12:22then he would have been the Brahman also sometimes.
12:26That doesn't mean it's a Brahman, you know?
12:30So, that's why the knowledge is important, you know,
12:34when one doesn't do that, you know?
12:36And knowledge is not just superficially,
12:39because the Brahman they are all very well instructed into it, you know,
12:44but instructing is one thing, understanding is something else, you know?
12:48People can read books as novels, but to understand, that means to transform and change.
12:56But for that you need that courage, you need that strength,
12:58you need that devoutness to be able to change.
13:01Otherwise no change will happen.
13:09Question?
13:13Question is about devotion.
13:16I feel like the devotion sometimes reduces,
13:20like the level of love that I have goes down.
13:23How to have more devotion for God and stay in love more?
13:28Love can't be diminished.
13:31On the spiritual path, love has to keep in peace.
13:36The point is that the mind gets so much focus into what we do and do the outside,
13:43we become slave to that mind, you know?
13:46We start running behind the dictation of the mind.
13:50So, we lose interest.
13:54At the beginning of the one spiritual path,
13:57one is very dedicated, very enthusiastic doing the sadhana,
14:03and they push themselves completely to the extreme, you know?
14:07You know, it's like somebody is doing exercise,
14:09they go to the extreme doing exercise.
14:11How long would that last for?
14:13The body has a limit, you know?
14:16So, it will come to a point that the body will say,
14:18enough is enough.
14:20Then you start having pain, automatically you will drop in doing your exercise.
14:25So, like that also, you see, when people became very at ease, you know,
14:33into their, what they are doing,
14:36what kicking is laziness.
14:39They start to become lazy.
14:41And so, when they become lazy they find excuses for not doing the sadhana.
14:46And that is the problem.
14:49They don't want to meet the challenges, they don't want to face the reality.
14:56Because, you see, they want a spirituality which is flat,
15:01in a straight line like a dead person, you know?
15:05That's what people want, you know?
15:08They want to be dead, you know?
15:12And that's what they call spirituality?
15:14No, it is not.
15:18In spirituality there must be the challenges.
15:23But how much do you go through it?
15:27That is very important.
15:30There was once a turtle, a tortoise, who lived on a ship.
15:39So, wherever the ship will go, the tortoise will have an easy life and they will go with it.
15:46So, life carries on like that.
15:48One day the ship had a wreck and the ship drowned, you know?
15:57So, the tortoise will have to swim.
16:00So, he swam for a very long time.
16:04So, finally he reached a deserted island.
16:09So, reaching the deserted island, being very tired,
16:17what did he, what did he, lying there?
16:19After some time he started to get hungry.
16:22He started looking around for food,
16:26to not find any food.
16:30So, he decided to climb a nearby mountain.
16:34With a hope that behind the mountain there is some food.
16:39So, as he climbed the mountain,
16:44he noticed that the more he was climbing,
16:47he started getting cold.
16:50Finally, he reached the place on the top,
16:54full of snow, freezing cold.
17:00But looking for food, there was no food.
17:04He takes courage.
17:06And he slides down to the other side.
17:11So, as he was coming down, the weather started changing
17:14and became warmer and nicer again.
17:17So, come to a point that he stopped.
17:23But he looked around, he saw a monster in front of him.
17:31And when he looked around him,
17:34he saw that there is a lot of dead bodies of many animals around.
17:42But hunger is killing him.
17:45But hunger is killing him.
17:46He don't know what to do.
17:50So, he took courage, strength.
17:54He said, no matter what, I will face that monster.
18:02So, he took courage and advanced toward that great monster.
18:08So, as he approached the monster,
18:13he saw that the monster was not a monster.
18:17It was a pile of stone
18:20who had a shape of a fierce, full monster.
18:27All the other idiots.
18:30They stopped themselves, fearing that big monster.
18:35And this one, he took courage and he went home.
18:39And this one was just a pile of stone.
18:43He crossed over, he reached a wonderful valley.
18:48And in that valley, he had all the food that he wanted.
18:54And he lived ever happy.
18:57It's called the valley of the churches.
19:01Probably he was the only one there.
19:07But that story is a story of courage, you know.
19:11And the spiritual path is not a path for lazy people.
19:16It's not a path for people which – true spirituality I'm talking about.
19:20I'm not talking about spirituality which people like to go in just because it is fancy, you know.
19:29I'm talking about truth spirituality in reaching the goal of your life itself.
19:37Not in our future life, now.
19:42Because, you see, everybody is trying to do spiritual things, you know.
19:47Little by little.
19:49They try, let me try this, let me try that, let me try this technique, let me try this, that
19:55technique.
19:56You know, every day I got message from people that,
19:59Swamiji, can I do this technique?
20:01Oh, Swamiji, can I do that technique?
20:03That will reduce my karma, that will free me, that will help me, that will make me more fit.
20:08Well, you can practice whatever you want.
20:12But if you don't practice what your master has given you, you know,
20:16and you don't give your fullness into that, that will not, you will not reach anywhere.
20:22So the story of the turtle itself is the story of one life, you know.
20:28Challenges appear like monsters, imaginary monsters.
20:33You know, very often we like to imagine many things, you know,
20:37especially when things don't go the way we want.
20:39What we do?
20:41We imagine things.
20:42We imagine it in a worse way.
20:44We make ourselves free.
20:45You know, even if it is just a small thing like that,
20:48we imagine in such a tremendous way, you know, that we make ourselves free.
20:54There is also a wonderful story of a monster also living in a forest.
21:00So, when the Pandava were in exile, they were walking and Krishna was with them.
21:11So, they arrived in front of the forest.
21:15So, they were very tired.
21:19So, one of them, Krishna said to them,
21:23one of you should guard in case there is any danger.
21:28So, then you can alert all of us, you know.
21:34So, first, the most robust and most maddened, you know, most strong strength, who is it?
21:42Bhim.
21:43Bhim, that's it.
21:46Bhim said, I will guard first.
21:50Bhim was guarding, the monster came to him.
21:56The big monster came out from the jungle.
22:00Bhim was very strong, you know.
22:03Bhim said, I will fight him, I will stop him.
22:07So, he starts fighting with the monster.
22:09The monster gives a good beating to him.
22:12Bhim.
22:13Bhim.
22:13Bhim, such a beating, he was there down lying.
22:20So, it was time for the other brothers.
22:26Same.
22:29Arjun did the same.
22:31Nakul, Sadeva, all of them got beaten.
22:38The Jewish chair came, also got beaten.
22:42Krishna woke up, looked around, could not find anybody.
22:48So, he went looking for them and he saw this huge monster there and they were all lying.
22:56So, Krishna, look at the monster.
23:01And what did Krishna do?
23:03He just smiled.
23:07He didn't fight, he didn't become angry,
23:14oh, you have beaten all my friends, here, I'm going to kill you right now.
23:19No, he didn't.
23:21But he did, he just smiled with love, you know.
23:26Because Dhvan, Krishna, is love Himself, you know.
23:31So, that was his greatest weapon.
23:35So, that melt, that monster.
23:39But the monster becomes so small in front of Krishna.
23:44So, Krishna caught him, tied him and put him in his pocket.
23:53So, after some times the Pādivās woke up and Krishna was standing, looking very astonished to them.
24:03He said, what happened to you guys?
24:06That we were fighting this big demon, you know, who came out from the forest.
24:14So, Krishna took it out and said, this is?
24:17I said, yes.
24:20How did he become so small?
24:23I said, well, you see, this is also how you view your problem, how you view your spiritual challenges, you
24:34know.
24:35If you have trust, if you have faith, no matter what challenges come, you will stand strong.
24:44But if you don't have faith, you don't have love, you don't have trust into that,
24:49anything will appear gigantic, massive, then you will become the little one.
24:57The moment you become the little one, you are in complete weakness, then you can't achieve anything.
25:04Then you start to go down the road, you know, that's what happened, you know.
25:11When one starts becoming, let's say, take one's spiritual path in a very, how call it, easy way.
25:24So, then we think that it is very easy.
25:26Then we start becoming lazy, we start to avoid doing our tātana.
25:33So, who will be the one who shows?
25:37Who will be the one?
25:40So, that's why it is very important.
25:43You know, no matter what comes, one should keep increasing one tātana.
25:49If you perceive that your tātana is going down and you don't have the same feeling, it's fine.
25:54It doesn't need to do everything with the same feeling.
25:57You are a different person day to day.
26:00You are not the same person.
26:02You are getting older and older, you are getting less and less.
26:06But your inner strength has to become more strong and strong, because, you know, a spiritual path is not an
26:12outer path, it is an inner path.
26:15The more you dive inside, the more you become strong.
26:20The more you try to see on the outside, the more you become weak.
26:27So, build that inner strength by journeying inward.
26:34And that will bring you forward always.
26:41Good day!
26:42Good day!
26:43Good day!
26:43Good day!
