Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:05Now, Storm Chandra brought flooding and wind damage over the last 24 hours.
00:10It is now slowly clearing towards the Atlantic.
00:13This amber warning for wind expires at 9pm.
00:16In its wake, temperatures will tumble, the risk of ice into tomorrow morning,
00:21and it remains unsettled through Wednesday and then into Thursday as well.
00:25In fact, on Thursday, the Met Office has issued a warning for rain across the southwest of England
00:31as more wet weather arrives from the southwest.
00:35The air remains cold across more northern and eastern areas.
00:38Eventually, you'll see that rain there with the chance of some mountain snow as well.
00:43Through this evening, it's still very windy across Northern Ireland, Irish Sea Coast, the North Channel.
00:49This amber warning until 9pm.
00:51Outbreaks of rain continue across Northern Ireland.
00:53Showers move in across England and Wales, and then this rain here with some mountain snow
00:58continues its passage northwards.
01:00But a feed of this cloud and rain will persist through the night with a strong southeast wind.
01:07Showers will clip the Western Isles as well.
01:10Inland, temperatures will dip below freezing, so expect a frost as we enter the day tomorrow
01:14and even some low clouds and some hill fog, particularly across central and eastern areas.
01:19First thing then, some brighter skies to start the day across Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
01:25We'll see a little bit of rain just drifting northwards across northern England.
01:29Scotland's seeing that rain across the north as well as the east, and then broken clouds further south.
01:34So some brighter breaks through the afternoon.
01:36Showers, though, never too far away across the far south as the winds pick up further strength yet again.
01:42Temperatures here 10 degrees Celsius, 6 or 7 further north.
01:46Into Wednesday evening, we remain under wet skies across north and northeastern areas of Scotland with that brisk wind.
01:53Clearer skies with some fog patches and frost across the central swathe of the country.
01:57However, further southwest, it turns showery, and those showers enter Northern Ireland as we head through to Thursday morning.
02:04So some showery bursts, first thing on Thursday, across the west country, Wales, Northern Ireland.
02:11Cloud and a little bit of rain across eastern parts of Scotland, northeast England.
02:15Some brighter breaks in between before this rain arrives across the southwest and turns heavy.
02:20And here we do have a rain warning from midday.
02:23Your outlook then through Friday, it remains unsettled.
02:26Low pressure in charge, bands of rain, showers following, and windy at times.
02:32Take care, and I'll see you again soon.
