08:39You have criticised me sharply, says the Lord.
08:43But you ask, how have we criticised you?
08:46You have said, it is useless to serve God.

08:55and going about like mourners before the Lord who rules over all?
09:00Now we consider the arrogant to be happy.
09:03Indeed, those who practise evil are successful.
09:06In fact, those who challenge God escape.

12:08Chapter 14
12:11Now when Jesus heard about this,
12:14he went away from there privately,
12:16in a boat,
12:17to an isolated place.
12:21But when the crowd heard about it,
12:23they followed him on foot from the thones.
12:27And as he got out,
12:28he saw the large crowd,
12:30and had compassion on them,
12:33healing their sick.
12:35When evening arrived,
12:37his disciples came and said to him,
12:39This is an isolated place,
12:41and the hour is already late.
12:43Send the crowds away,
12:45that they can go into the villages,
12:47and buy food for themselves.
12:51But he replied,
12:52They don't need to go.
12:54You give them something to eat.
12:57They said to him,
12:59We have only five loaves,
13:01and two fish.
13:03Bring them here to me,
13:05he replied.
13:07Then he instructed the crowds,
13:09to sit down on the grass.
13:11He took the five loaves,
13:13and the two fish,
13:14and looking up to heaven,

13:16and broke the loaves.

13:26and they picked up the broken pieces left over,

13:35there were about five thousand men who ate.

13:44and go ahead of him to the other side,
13:46while he dispersed the crowds.
13:50After he had sent the crowds away,
13:52he went up the mountain by himself,

14:04was taking a beating from the waves,

14:59Lord,
15:00save me!
15:02Immediately,
15:03Jesus reached out his hand,
15:05and caught him,
15:06saying to him,
15:08You of little faith,
15:09why did you doubt?
15:12When they went up into the boat,
15:14the wind ceased.
15:16Then those who were in the boat worshipped him,
15:19saying,
15:20Truly you are the Son of God.
15:24After they had crossed over,
15:26they came to land at Gennesaret,
15:28and when the people recognised him,
15:30they sent word into all the surrounding area,
15:33and they brought their sick to him.
15:36They begged him,
15:37if they could only touch the edge of his cloak,
15:41all who touched it were healed.
15:45This is the word of the Lord.
15:48Thanks be to God.
16:02Now, according to your word,

16:06permit your servant to depart in peace.
