00:01When Lawrence went to the police service, he went as a perfectionist because we had an idea of what the
00:10police service was and we have an expectation. Unfortunately today, a fair amount of that expectation fails us.
00:20Dr. Rowley said there are police officers today who have no right being in the police service.
00:26And he would tell me about the good side of the police service. Because make no mistake about it. There
00:35are a lot of excellent, exemplary men and women in our police service. But by the same token, there are
00:46quite a few people in that service who have no right being in there. And Lawrence was concerned about those
00:53people who were in the police service.
00:55Rowley said Dennis complained profusely about the actions of some police officers in the service.
01:01Even though he was disappointed in some of the actions of some of his colleagues, he said, well, you hold
01:08on. You will get out of that situation by being promoted. And eventually he said, the first opportunity I'm going
01:17to leave. I have a different life. And Lawrence did that.
01:23He was an outstanding police officer of the highest integrity in Trinidad and today.
