In commenting on his appointment to the Senate former Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis is thanking Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for placing this confidence in him. More from Elizabeth Williams.

00:00It is with great humility that I accept this new challenge, this great responsibility to
00:06serve the people of Trinidad and Tobago. As a government senator I want to thank the Prime
00:13Minister and the party leadership for the confidence that they have placed in me to
00:20take on this particular responsibility at this time. Mr Dennis said he intends to serve with
00:27integrity. I intend to serve with humility, with integrity. I intend to bring all the experience,
00:37all the energy, all the commitment to this new rule in the Senate. Mr Dennis said Tobago's voice
00:47would be heard in the Senate. I look forward to joining the Tobago voices in the Senate and of
00:54course my other Senate colleagues generally to ensure that we are able to collaborate and work
